a memory device that stores instruction modules that are executable by the processor, the instruction modules comprising a content customization engine configured to;
receive a product interaction from a mobile device, the product interaction comprising a product identifier corresponding to a product located in the retail environment;
determine a customer location within the retail environment based on a planned location of the product; and
initiate a business action based, at least in part, on the product interaction; and
a tracking and analytics engine configured to store customer insight information corresponding to the product interaction to a data structure.

The method also includes performing a business action based, at least in part, on the product interaction. The method also includes storing customer insight information corresponding to the product interaction to a data structure.
