Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for transmitting an advertisement to a client device. The method comprises, receiving from a client device via a communication network a profile that includes information concerning a user, selecting, via a processor, an advertisement from a plurality of available advertisements based on the information concerning the user included in the profile and also based on targeting criteria associated with each of the available advertisements, and transmitting to the client device via the communication network the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements so that the advertisement can be presented via the client device.

Claims

1. A method of transmitting an advertisement to a client device, the method comprising:

receiving from a client device via a communication network a profile associated with a user, wherein the profile includes information concerning the user;

selecting, via a processor, an advertisement from a plurality of available advertisements based on the information concerning the user included in the profile and also based on targeting criteria associated with each of the available advertisements; and

transmitting to the client device via the communication network the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements so that the advertisement can be presented via the client device.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining a location of the client device, wherein selecting the advertisement from the plurality of available advertisements is further based on the location of the client device and a location of a vender associated with each of the available advertisements; and

transmitting to the client device via the communication network an address of the vender associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements.

The method of claim 1, wherein the information concerning the user included in the profile comprises financial data associated with the user, and selecting the advertisement from the plurality of available advertisements is further based on the financial data associated with the user and a cost of a product or a service associated with each of the available advertisements.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein each of the available advertisements includes a plurality of advertisement variations each of which has associated therewith an attribute, the method further comprising:

selecting, via the processor, an advertisement variation from the plurality of advertisement variations based on a comparison of the information concerning the user included in the profile and the attribute associated with each of the advertisement variations, wherein transmitting the advertisement to the client device comprises transmitting the advertisement variation selected from the plurality of advertisement variations so that the advertisement variation can be presented via the client device.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the attribute associated with each of the advertisement variations comprises a modifiable attribute associated with a perceptible object included in the advertisement.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the modifiable attribute associated with the perceptible object included in the advertisement comprises a color of the perceptible object included in the advertisement.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

causing the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on a display associated with the client device;

receiving from an input associated with the client device an indication to purchase a product or a service associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements; and

in response to receiving the indication to purchase the product or the service associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements, automatically causing the product or the service associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be purchased.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

causing the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on a display associated with the client device;

causing an additional-information indication to be presented on the display associated with the client device;

receiving from an input associated with the client device a selection of the additional-information indication; and

in response to receiving the selection of the additional-information indication, causing additional information associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on the display associated with the client device.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements includes a plurality of products, the method further comprising:

causing the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on a display associated with the client device, wherein the advertisement includes an image corresponding to each of the plurality of products;

receiving from an input associated with the client device a selection of an image corresponding to one of the plurality of products; and

in response to receiving the selection of the image corresponding to one of the plurality of products, causing additional information associated with said one of the plurality of products to be presented on the display associated with the client device.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

causing the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on a display associated with the client device; and

storing in a memory associated with the client device the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the information concerning the user included in the profile comprises one or more of the user'"'"'s likes, dislikes, or financial qualifications.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the information concerning the user included in the profile comprises one or more of a plurality of locations visited by the user, a plurality of venders visited by the user, or a plurality of products previously purchased by the user.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the information concerning the user included in the profile comprises communication criteria data input into the client device in categories including one or more of user information, user activities, or product data.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the client device comprises a mobile communications device.

15. A system comprising:

a communication module configured to communicate via a communications network; and

a processor in operative association with the communication module, the processor configured to;

receive from a client device via the communication module a profile associated with a user, wherein the profile includes information concerning the user;

select an advertisement from a plurality of available advertisements based on the information concerning the user included in the profile and also based on targeting criteria associated with each of the available advertisements; and

transmit to the client device via the communication module the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements so that the advertisement can be presented via the client device.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein each of the available advertisements includes a plurality of advertisement variations each of which has associated therewith an attribute and wherein the processor is further configured to:

select an advertisement variation from the plurality of advertisement variations based on a comparison of the information concerning the user included in the profile and the attribute associated with each of the advertisement variations; and

transmit the advertisement variation selected from the plurality of advertisement variations so that the advertisement variation can be presented via the client device.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the processor is further configured to:

cause the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on a display associated with the client device;

receive from an input associated with the client device an indication to purchase a product or a service associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements; and

in response to receiving the indication to purchase the product or the service associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements, automatically cause the product or the service associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be purchased.

18. The system of claim 15, wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine a location of the client device, wherein the selection of the advertisement from the plurality of available advertisements is further based on the location of the client device and a location of a vender associated with each of the available advertisements; and

transmit to the client device via the communication module an address of the vender associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements.

19. The system of claim 15, wherein the processor is further configured to:

cause the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on a display associated with the client device;

cause an additional-information indication to be presented on the display associated with the client device;

receive from an input associated with the client device a selection of the additional-information indication; and

in response to receiving the selection of the additional-information indication, cause additional information associated with the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements to be presented on the display associated with the client device.

20. A computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions comprising:

instructions for receiving from a client device via a communication network a profile associated with a user, wherein the profile includes information concerning the user;

instructions for selecting an advertisement from a plurality of available advertisements based on the information concerning the user included in the profile and also based on targeting criteria associated with each of the available advertisements; and

instructions for transmitting to the client device via the communication network the advertisement selected from the plurality of available advertisements so that the advertisement can be presented via the client device.
