Abstract

A display device includes a liquid crystal display with an integrated touch screen panel including a first substrate having a plurality of gate wires and a plurality of data wires and having a plurality of pixels. Each pixel includes a thin film transistor and a pixel electrode. The display device also includes a second substrate opposite to the first substrate, an insulating layer on the pixel electrode, a plurality of transparent electrodes arranged in a first direction on the insulating layer, a plurality of metal electrodes forming coupling parts attached to predetermined sides of the transparent electrodes and forming driving wires that receive driving signals, a plurality of sensing electrodes arranged on the second substrate in a second direction that intersects the first direction, and a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate.

Claims

1. A liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel, comprising:

a first substrate having a plurality of gate wires and a plurality of data wires and having a plurality of pixels, each pixel including a thin film transistor and a pixel electrode;

a second substrate opposite to the first substrate;

an insulating layer on the pixel electrode;

a plurality of transparent electrodes arranged in a first direction on the insulating layer;

a plurality of metal electrodes forming coupling parts attached to predetermined sides of the transparent electrodes and forming driving wires that receive driving signals;

a plurality of sensing electrodes arranged in a second direction on the second substrate, the second direction intersecting the first direction; and

a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate.

2. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, wherein the coupling part has an opening.

3. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, wherein the transparent electrodes have a plurality of slits.

4. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, wherein the transparent electrodes are made of Indium Tin Oxide.

5. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, wherein the thin film transistor has a first electrode connected to the data wire, a gate electrode connected to the gate wire, and a second electrode connected to the pixel electrode.

6. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, further comprising a driving electrode driving unit that sequentially supplies driving signals to driving wires of the metal electrodes.

7. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, further comprising:

a first polarizer and a second polarizer attached to the outer sides of the first substrate and the second substrate, respectively; and

a window attached to the outer side of the second polarizer.

8. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 7, wherein the sensing electrodes are between the second substrate and the window.

9. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, further comprising:

a black matrix under the first substrate; and

color filter patterns.

10. The liquid crystal display integrated touch screen panel according to claim 1, further comprising a backlight under the first substrate, the backlight providing light for illuminating the liquid crystal display.
