Abstract

An optical switching device includes plural wavelength selective switches that respectively have a first port and a plurality of second ports; and an optical coupler that has a plurality of third ports on an input-side or an output-side, respectively optically coupled to the first ports of the wavelength selective switches.

Claims

1. An optical switching device comprising:

a plurality of wavelength selective switches that respectively have a first port and a plurality of second ports; and

an optical coupler that has a plurality of third ports on an input-side or an output-side, respectively optically coupled to the first ports of the wavelength selective switches.

2. The optical switching device according to claim 1, wherein

the first port is an output port,

the second ports are input ports,

the third ports are on the input-side of the optical coupler, and

the optical coupler couples optical signals output from the output ports of the wavelength selective switches.

3. The optical switching device according to claim 1, wherein

the first port is an input port,

the second ports are output ports,

the third ports are on the output-side of the optical coupler, and

the optical coupler splits an optical signal into plural optical signals and outputs the optical signals to the input port of each wavelength selective switch, respectively.

4. The optical switching device according to claim 2, further comprising:

a wavelength monitor that monitors each wavelength included in the optical signals;

a detector that based on monitor results obtained by the wavelength monitor, detects among the optical signals, optical signals that include that same wavelength; and

a processor that outputs detection results obtained by the detector.

5. The optical switching device according to claim 4, further comprising a controller that if optical signals that include the same wavelength are detected by the detector, causes any one of the wavelength selective switches that have output one of the detected optical signals, to terminate output of the optical signal.

6. The optical switching device according to claim 5, further comprising storage storing therein a priority level for each of the wavelength selective switches, wherein

the controller, based on the priority levels stored in the storage, causes the wavelength selective switch that has the lower priority level among the wavelength selective switches that have output the detected optical signals, to terminate output of the optical signal.

7. The optical switching device according to claim 5, further comprising storage that stores therein a priority level for each of the optical signals, wherein

the controller, based on the priority levels stored in the storage, causes the wavelength selective switch that has output the optical signal that has the lower priority level among the detected optical signals, to terminate output of the optical signal.

8. The optical switching device according to claim 1, wherein the third ports of the optical coupler exceed the wavelength selective switches in number.

9. An optical add device comprising:

a plurality of the optical switching devices according to claim 2, respectively transmitting to degrees of a network, an optical signal coupled by the optical coupler;

a plurality of transmitters that respectively output an optical signal; and

optical paths that input to the input ports of the optical switching devices, the optical signals output by the transmitters.

10. The optical add device according to claim 9, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of cross connects that each have a plurality of input ports to which the optical signals output by the transmitters are input, and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of first switches that each have an input port that is optically coupled to an output port of one of the cross connects, and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of second switches that each have input ports that are optically coupled to the output ports of the first switches, and an output port, and

a plurality of multiplexers that multiplex optical signals output from the output ports of the second switches and input the multiplexed optical signals to the input ports of the optical switching devices.

11. The optical add device according to claim 9, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of cross connects that each have a plurality of input ports to which the optical signals output by the transmitters are input, and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of switches that each have an input port that is optically coupled to an output port of one of the cross connects, and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of second couplers that each have input ports that are optically coupled to the output ports of the switches, and an output port, and

a plurality of multiplexers that multiplex the optical signals output from the output ports of the second couplers and input the multiplexed optical signals to the input ports of the optical switching devices (100).

12. The optical add device according to claim 9, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of cross connects that each have a plurality of input ports to which the optical signals output by the transmitters are input, and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of second couplers that each have an input port that is optically coupled to an output port of one of the cross connects, and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of switches that each have input ports that are optically coupled to the output ports of the second couplers, and an output port, and

a plurality of multiplexers that multiplex the optical signals output from the output ports of the switches and input the multiplexed optical signals to the input ports of the optical switching devices.

13. The optical add device according to claim 9, wherein

the optical paths include a plurality of second wavelength selective switches that have input ports and output ports that are respectively optically coupled, and that each have a plurality of input ports to which the optical signals output by the transmitters are input and output ports that are optically coupled to the input ports of the optical switching devices.

14. The optical add device according to claim 9, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of multiplexers that multiplex the optical signals output by the transmitters,

a plurality of second couplers that split the optical signals multiplexed by the multiplexers, and

a plurality of second wavelength selective switches that each have a plurality of input ports to which the optical signals resulting from splitting by the second couplers are input, and an output port that is optically coupled to an input port of one of the optical switching devices.

15. The optical add device according to claim 9, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of multiplexers that multiplex the optical signals output from the transmitters; and

a plurality of second wavelength selective switches that have input ports and output ports that are respectively optically coupled, a plurality of input ports to which a multiplexed optical signal is input from one of the multiplexers, and output ports that are optically coupled the input ports of the optical switching devices.

16. An optical drop device comprising:

a plurality of the optical switching devices according to claim 3, where optical signals from degrees of a network are input the optical couplers, respectively;

a plurality of receivers that receive the optical signals, respectively; and

a plurality of optical paths that output to the receivers, respectively, the optical signals output from the output ports of the wavelength selective switches.

17. The optical drop device according to claim 16, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of demultiplexers that demultiplex the optical signals output from the optical switching devices,

a plurality of first switches that each have an input port to which an optical signal output from one of the demultiplexers is input and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of second switches that each include a plurality of input ports that are respectively optically coupled to the output ports of the first switches, and an output port, and

a plurality of cross connects that each include a plurality of input ports that are optically coupled to the output ports of the second switches, and a plurality of output ports that output the optical signals to the receivers.

18. The optical drop device according to claim 16, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of demultiplexers that demultiplex the optical signals from the optical switching devices,

a plurality of second couplers that each have an input port to which an optical signal output from one of the demultiplexers is input and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of switches that each have a plurality of input ports that are respectively optically coupled to the output ports of the second couplers, and an output port, and

a plurality of cross connects that each include a plurality of input ports that are respectively optically coupled to the output ports of the switches and a plurality of output ports that output the optical signals to the receivers.

19. The optical drop device according to claim 16, wherein

the optical paths include:

a plurality of demultiplexers that demultiplex the optical signals from the optical switching devices,

a plurality of switches that each have an input port to which an optical signal from one of the demultiplexers is input, and a plurality of output ports,

a plurality of second couplers that each have a plurality of input ports that are respectively optically coupled to the output ports of the switches, and an output port, and

a plurality of cross connects that each have a plurality of input ports that are respectively optically coupled to the output ports of the second couplers and a plurality of output ports that output the optical signals to the receivers.

20. The optical drop device according to claim 16, wherein

the optical paths include a plurality of second wavelength selective switches that have input ports and output ports that are respectively optically coupled, an input port optically coupled to an output port of one of the optical switching devices and a plurality of output ports that output the optical signals to the receivers.
