Abstract
The present invention relates to control of pest infestation by inhibiting one or more biological functions. The invention provides methods and compositions for such control, By feeding one or more recombinant double stranded RNA molecules provided by the invention to the pest, a reduction in pest infestation is obtained through suppression of gene expression. The invention is also directed to methods for making transgenic plants that express the double stranded RNA molecules, and to particular combinations of transgenic pesticidal agents for use in protecting plants from pest infestation.

19. A method for controlling coleopteran pest infestation comprising providing in the diet of a coleopteran pest an agent comprising a first polynucleotide sequence that functions upon ingestion by the pest to inhibit a biological function within said pest, wherein said polynucleotide sequence exhibits from about 95 to about 100% nucleotide sequence identity along at least from about 19 to about 25 contiguous nucleotides to a coding sequence derived from said pest and is hybridized to a second polynucleotide sequence that is complementary to said first polynucleotide sequence, and wherein said coding sequence derived from said pest is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 through SEQ ID NO;
906, and the complements thereof. - View Dependent Claims (20)
