Abstract

A list display method and apparatus are disclosed. The list display method, for a terminal having a display unit, includes detecting a necessity for displaying a list, classifying list items into viewable items and aggregated items, displaying the viewable items in the list view region and displaying information regarding the aggregated items in the list aggregate region. Responsive to inputs aggregate items may be classified as viewable items and corresponding ones of the viewable items are classified as aggregate items.

Claims

1. A list display method operable in a processor within a mobile terminal having a display unit, comprising:

detecting a necessity for displaying a list;

classifying list items into viewable items for a list view region and aggregated items for a list aggregate region;

displaying the viewable items in the list view region; and

displaying information regarding the aggregated items in the list aggregate region.

2. The list display method of claim 1, wherein displaying information regard the aggregated items comprises:

displaying the aggregated items in an aggregate form in the list aggregate region.

3. The list display method of claim 2, wherein displaying information regarding the aggregated items comprises:

displaying the aggregated items in the list aggregate region so that the aggregated items are tilted at preset angles with respect to the screen of the display unit using the sides near to the list view region as axes.

4. The list display method of claim 3, wherein displaying information on the aggregated items comprises:

displaying multiple aggregated items in the list aggregate region so that the aggregated items are tilted at preset angles with respect to the screen of the display unit using the sides near to the list view region as axes and overlap each other.

5. The list display method of claim 2, wherein displaying information on the aggregated items comprises:

displaying the aggregated items behind the viewable items so that an aggregated item near to a viewable item is located before another aggregated item far from the viewable item.

6. The list display method of claim 1, wherein displaying information on the aggregated items comprises:

setting the list aggregate region according to a number of aggregated items.

7. The list display method of claim 6, wherein displaying information on the aggregated items comprises:

determining a brightness level according to the number of aggregated items; and

setting the list aggregate region to the determined brightness level.

8. The list display method of claim 6, wherein displaying information on the aggregated items comprises:

drawing lines corresponding to a number of aggregated items in the list aggregate region.

9. The list display method of claim 6, wherein displaying information on the aggregated items comprises:

setting the area of the list aggregate region to a value proportional to the number of aggregated items.

10. A mobile terminal for displaying lists, comprising:

a processor in communication with a memory, the memory including code which when accessed by the processor causes the processor to operate as a list classifier for;

classifying, upon detecting a necessity of displaying a list, list items into viewable items for a list view region and aggregated items for a list aggregate region; and

a display unit displaying the viewable items in the list view region and displaying information on the aggregated items in the list aggregate region.

11. The mobile terminal of claim 10, wherein the display unit displays the aggregated items in an aggregate form in the list aggregate region.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the display unit displays the aggregated items in the list aggregate region so that the aggregated items are tilted at preset angles with respect to the screen using the sides near to the list view region as axes.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein the display unit displays multiple aggregated items in the list aggregate region so that the aggregated items are tilted at preset angles with respect to the screen using the sides near to the list view region as axes and overlap each other.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the display unit displays the aggregated items behind the viewable items so that an aggregated item near to a viewable item is located before another aggregated item far from the viewable item.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 10, wherein the display unit sets the list aggregate region according to a number of aggregated items.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 15, wherein the display unit determines a brightness level corresponding to the number of aggregated items and sets the list aggregate region to the determined brightness level.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 15, wherein the display unit draws lines corresponding to the number of aggregated items in the list aggregate region.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 15, wherein the display unit sets the area of the list aggregate region to a value proportional to the number of aggregated items.

19. The terminal of claim 18, wherein items in the view region are displayed in a full view and items in the aggregate region are displayed in a perspective view.

20. The terminal of claim 18, wherein the at least one aggregate region is positioned with respect to the view region in a corresponding one of:

a left position, a right position, an above position and a below position.
