Abstract

The present disclosure relates to motion adaptive user equipment (UE) in a wireless communications network environment adapted for selecting one or more subsets of accessible user interface (UI) functions based, at least in part, on the determined motion of a UE. By selectively employing the one or more subsets of UI functions, a UE can dynamically adapt to the motion of the UE and limit distracting interactions with the UE creating a safer or more compliant wireless environment. Further disclosed are features related to override of UI limitations, auxiliary location sensing aspects, motion rule updating features, and voluntary and involuntary user preference aspects.

Claims

1. A system, comprising:

a motion analysis component configured to access user equipment motion data and analyze the user equipment motion data to determine, at least in part, a subset of accessible user interface functions, and

a user interface component configured to access the subset of accessible user interface functions.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

an override component configured to indicate an override condition.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the motion analysis component is further configured to determine, at least in part, the subset of accessible user interface functions based, at least in part, on the override condition.

4. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a local position component configured to indicate auxiliary position data.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the motion analysis component is further configured to determine, at least in part, the subset of accessible user interface functions based, at least in part, on the auxiliary position data.

6. The system of claim 4, wherein the auxiliary position data is associated with identifying a position of the user equipment with regard to a frame of reference different from the frame of reference for the user equipment motion data.

7. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a rule library component configured to access a first motion rule, and

an enterprise rule engine component configured to, at least in part, generate a second motion rule.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein the enterprise rule engine component is further configured to, at least in part, generate an update of the first motion rule based, at least in part, on the user equipment motion data.

9. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a user preference component configured to facilitate access to user preference data.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the user preference data comprises voluntary user preference data and involuntary user preference data.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the voluntary user preference data comprises user preference information received from a user and the involuntary user preference data comprises user preference information received from a source other than the user.

12. The system of claim 1, wherein the user equipment motion data comprises timed fingerprint location data.

13. A method, comprising:

determining user equipment motion based, at least in part, on the user equipment motion data; and

determining, based at least in part on the user equipment motion, a subset of accessible user interface functions.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

selectively limiting functionality of a user interface of the user equipment based, at least in part, on the subset of accessible user interface functions.

15. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

accessing override data related to an override condition; and

selectively limiting the user interface functionality of a user equipment based, at least in part, on the override data.

16. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

accessing local position data; and

selectively limiting functionality of a user interface of the user equipment based, at least in part, on the local position data.

17. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

accessing user preference data; and

selectively limiting functionality of a user interface of the user equipment based, at least in part, on the user preference data.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the limiting includes selectively limiting the functionality based on voluntary user preference data and involuntary user preference data.

19. The method of claim 13 further comprising:

accessing rule update data, wherein the determining includes determining based on the rule update data.

20. An article of manufacture including a computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform a method comprising:

accessing user equipment motion data comprising timed fingerprint location data;

determining user equipment speed based, at least in part, on the user equipment motion data; and

determining a subset of user interface functions to expose from the user equipment based, at least in part, on the user equipment speed.
