First Claim
1. A lead for an active implantable medical device, comprising:
- an elongated flexible sheath (10) having a central lumen and at least one conductive connection (12, 14) housed in said central lumen of the sheath; and
a rigid cylindrical supporting tube (20) of an insulating material, having a surface, a central region, and a crossing central bore (22), the supporting tube being interposed in the sheath so that its central bore is coaxial with the lumen of the sheath;
the supporting tube comprising;
a cavity in its surface forming a chip receptacle (32), opening into the central region (30) of the supporting tube,at least one electrode (16, 52) arranged on the supporting tube (20) surface; and
at least one chip (18) comprising a substrate and at least two conductive contact pads (26, 24) respectively connected to the conductive connection and to the at least one electrode, an outer conductive pad (24) on a first side of the substrate and an inner conductive pad (26) on a second side of the substrate, the at least one electrode (16;
52) being electrically connected to the outer conductive pad (24); and
a feedthrough conductor (28) having a central region (28a) connected to the inner conductive pad (26) of the chip and two end regions (28b), wherein;
the substrate of the chip (18) is a flexible substrate, disposed with a bent conformation in the receptacle (32) of the supporting tube;
the conductive connection housed by the sheath includes a disconnect at the supporting tube location; and
the feedthrough conductor is a conductive strip (28) formed on the supporting tube, and extending axially along the supporting tube and connected at each of its ends (28b) to the opposing conductive connection (12) located in the sheath.

Abstract
A lead for active implantable medical devices comprising a chip, notably for electrode multiplexing. The lead (10) includes an insulating supporting tube (20) interposed in a flexible elongated tube, with a central bore (22) coaxial with the lumen of the lead. The supporting tube comprises on its surface at least one crossing conductive strip (28) extending in the axial direction. A chip (18) on a flexible substrate is disposed with a bent or curved conformation in a receptacle of the supporting tube isolated from the conductive strip. An electrode, e.g., for cardiac sensing/pacing, (16) on the supporting tube (20) is electrically connected to an outer conductive pad (24) of the chip. The conductive strip is connected (i) at each end (28b), face to face to a conductive connection (12), housed in the sheath, and (ii) in a central region (28a), to an inner conductive pad (26) of the chip.
