Abstract
A method for providing a User Interface (UI), in which a common function is mapped to a plurality of motions, and a device adopting the method is provided. The method includes performing a function commonly mapped to a plurality of motions when a user motion falls within any one of the plurality of motions. Thus, as a plurality of motions for instructing a specific function exists, a user may input a familiar or desired motion, to thereby enable the user to input a command for a function in a more convenient and free manner.
