Abstract

This disclosure relates to systems, devices, protocols, and processes for retrieving, accessing, and presenting information of energy usage using a distributed storage process and distributed logical services to provide a user with real-time energy usage information and visualization.

Claims

1. An energy usage data storage distribution process comprising:

receiving energy usage information data and an associated origination information data at a logger device;

determining to which plurality of storage units to distribute the energy usage information, based on the origination information data;

wherein each storage unit is part of a respective group of storage units.

2. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, further comprising:

collecting energy usage information from a sensor or a measurement device;

transmitting energy usage information to a primary and a secondary data collection agent device;

establishing origination information data, by each agent device, wherein the origination information data is indicative of the sensor or measurement device that originated the data, and the origination information data is part of an energy usage data packet.

3. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, further comprising:

collecting energy usage information from a sensor or a measurement device;

transmitting energy usage information to a primary and a secondary data collection agent device;

establishing origination information data, by each agent device, wherein the origination information data is indicative of the sensor or measurement device that originated the data;

using BABUP message protocol when transmitting the energy usage information and an associated origination information data to the logger device.

4. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, wherein:

the receiving the energy usage information and an associated origination information data by the logger device occurs at a rate of at least once per minute.

5. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, wherein:

the receiving the energy usage information and an associated origination information data by the logger device occurs at a rate of twice per minute.

6. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, wherein:

the receiving the energy usage information and an associated origination information data by the logger device occurs at a rate of at least once per second.

7. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, further comprising:

distributing the energy usage information from the logger device to each long-term storage device from the respective group of storage devices.

8. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, wherein:

the distributing is based on performing a mathematical operation on the origination information data.

9. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, further comprising:

transmitting the energy usage data information along with the origination data information as part of an energy usage data packet to a logger device;

receiving the energy usage data packet by the logger device; and

distributing the energy usage data to one of the plurality of storage devices.

10. An energy usage data storage distribution process according to claim 1, wherein:

the distributing the energy usage information from the logger device to each long-term storage device from the respective group of storage devices is based on the origination information data;

wherein the logger device performs an operation on the origination information data to determine which long-term storage device from the respective group of long term storage devices should receive the energy usage data;

wherein the operation is executed at an execution rate which enables the energy usage data storage distribution process to store the energy usage data in real-time when the receipt of the energy usage information occurs at a rate of twice per minute; and

wherein the long-term storage device stores the energy usage data in real-time so that the stored data is stored within a minute from when the energy usage information is collected, and stores the energy usage data in a raw data format.

11. An energy usage data storage distribution system comprising:

a logger device configured to receive energy usage information data and an associated origination information data at a logger device;

the logger device configured to determine to which plurality of storage units to distribute the energy usage information, based on the origination information data;

wherein each storage unit is part of a respective group of storage units.

12. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, further comprising:

an measurement device configured to collect energy usage information in real-time;

the measurement device configured to transmit energy usage information to a primary and a secondary data collection agent device;

the agent device configured to establish origination information data, wherein the origination information data is indicative of measurement device that originated the data, and the origination information data is part of an energy usage data packet.

13. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, further comprising:

an measurement device configured to collect energy usage information in real-time;

the measurement device configured to transmit energy usage information to a primary and a secondary data collection agent device;

the agent device configured to establish origination information data, wherein the origination information data is indicative of measurement device that originated the data, and the origination information data is part of an energy usage data packet.

14. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, wherein:

the logger device is configured to receive the energy usage information and an associated origination information data at a rate of at least once per minute, as the data becomes available.

15. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, wherein:

the logger device is configured to receive the energy usage information and an associated origination information data at a rate of twice per minute, as the data becomes available.

16. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, wherein:

the logger device is configured to receive the energy usage information and an associated origination information data at a rate of at least once per second, as the data becomes available.

17. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, wherein:

the logger device is configured to distribute the energy usage information from the logger device to each long-term storage device from the respective group of storage devices.

18. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, wherein:

the logger device is configured to perform a mathematical operation on the origination information data when determining to which plurality of storage units to distribute the energy usage information.

19. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, wherein:

the agent device is configured to transmit the energy usage data information along with the origination data information as part of an energy usage data packet to a logger device;

the logger device is configured to receive the energy usage data packet; and

the logger device is configured to distribute the energy usage data to one of the plurality of storage devices.

20. An energy usage data storage distribution system according to claim 11, wherein:

the logger device is configured to distribute the energy usage information to each long-term storage device from the respective group of storage devices, based on the origination information data;

the logger device is configured to perform an operation on the origination information data to determine which long-term storage device from the respective group of long term storage devices should receive the energy usage data;

wherein the operation is executed at an execution rate which enables the energy usage data storage distribution system to store the energy usage data in real-time when the receipt of the energy usage information occurs at a rate of twice per minute; and

wherein a long-term storage device is configured to store the energy usage data in real-time, wherein real-time includes storing the energy usage information within a minute from when the energy usage information was collected; and

wherein a long-term storage device is configured to store the energy usage data in a raw data format.
