Abstract

In various embodiments, an attendee of a live online meeting selects screen data from an earlier point in time in the online meeting for playback while the meeting is still ongoing. Automatically generated image thumbnails of the screen data for the online meeting may be employed to navigate to the earlier point in time. Attendees may annotate screenshots associated with the thumbnails, and a summary document may be generated that includes the screenshots and the annotations.

Claims

1. A method for generating a summary document of an online meeting, the method comprising:

storing, in computer memory, at least a portion of screen data representing a previously presented portion of an online meeting;

capturing a plurality of screenshots in response to trigger events, each screenshot i) being based at least in part on the stored screen data and ii) representable as an image thumbnail; and

combining the plurality of screenshots, thereby generating a summary document summarizing the online meeting.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising transmitting the summary document to a viewer computing device attending the meeting.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving an annotation from a viewer computing device attending the meeting; and

adding the annotation to the summary document.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the annotation is encrypted.

5. The method of claim 3, wherein the annotation is unencrypted.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the summary document is generated by a server computing device.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the summary document is generated by a viewer computing device.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein at least one of the plurality of screenshots is encrypted.

9. A system for generating a summary document of an online meeting, the system comprising:

a storage device for storing at least a portion of screen data representing a previously presented portion of an online meeting;

an image processing module for capturing a plurality of screenshots in response to trigger events, each screenshot i) being based at least in part on the stored screen data and ii) representable as an image thumbnail; and

a combining module for combining the plurality of screenshots, thereby generating a summary document summarizing the online meeting.

10. The system of claim 9, further comprising a transmitter for transmitting the summary document to a viewer computing device attending the meeting.

11. The system of claim 9, further comprising a receiver for receiving an annotation from a viewer computing device attending the meeting, and wherein the combining module further adds the annotation to the summary document.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the annotation is encrypted.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the annotation is unencrypted.

14. The system of claim 9, wherein at least one of the plurality of screenshots is encrypted.

15. An article of manufacture comprising computer-readable instructions thereon for generating a summary document of an online meeting, the article of manufacture comprising:

instructions to store, in computer memory, at least a portion of screen data representing a previously presented portion of an online meeting;

instructions to capture a plurality of screenshots in response to trigger events, each screenshot i) being based at least in part on the stored screen data and ii) representable as an image thumbnail; and

instructions to combine the plurality of screenshots, thereby generating a summary document summarizing the online meeting.

16. The article of manufacture of claim 15, further comprising instructions to transmit the summary document to a viewer computing device attending the meeting.

17. The article of manufacture of claim 15, further comprising:

instructions to receive an annotation from a viewer computing device attending the meeting; and

instructions to add the annotation to the summary document.

18. The article of manufacture of claim 17, wherein the annotation is encrypted.

19. The article of manufacture of claim 17, wherein the annotation is unencrypted.

20. The article of manufacture of claim 15, wherein at least one of the plurality of screenshots is encrypted.
