Abstract

A bottle mounting system includes a bottle holder and a clamp. The clamp can mount to a variety of support members to provide a clamp mount extending either from a vertical surface of the clamp or a horizontal surface of the clamp. The bottle holder has both a rear mount and a bottom mount, each of which can be selectively mounted to the clamp mount depending upon the orientation of the clamp mount. Each of the rear mount and bottom mount of the bottle holder can be mated to the clamp mount in multiple orientations such that there are a large number of different configurations in which the bottle mounting system can be implemented.

Claims

1. A bottle mounting system comprising:

(a) a bottle holder including;

a bottom wall having a top surface and a bottom surface,

a sidewall having an front surface and a rear surface, and

a bottom mount provided at said bottom surface of said bottom wall, and

a rear mount provided at said rear surface of said sidewall; and

(b) a clamp including;

a first jaw providing a first clamp surface and a clamp mount said bottom mount and said clamp mount selectively mating to mount said bottle holder to said first jaw in a bottom-mounted orientation, and said rear mount and said clamp mount selectively mating to mount said bottle holder to said first jaw in a rear-mounted orientation,

a second jaw providing a second clamp surface, said second jaw mating with said first jaw, said first jaw sliding relative to said second jaw, said first and second jaws interacting to mount said clamp to a support member by squeezing the support member between said first and second clamp surfaces, said first clamp surface moving with said first jaw and said second clamp surfaces moving with said second jaw, and

a releasable locking member that has a locking position wherein it locks said first jaw and second jaw in relative position to each other so as to prevent said first jaw and second jaw from moving apart from each other, and a non-locking position wherein it permits said first jaw and second jaw to move apart from each other.

The bottle mounting system of claim 1, wherein, when said first and second jaws are mounted to the support member such that said clamp mount is presented in a vertical surface of said first jaw, said rear mount selectively mates with said clamp mount to present said bottle holder in the rear-mounted orientation, with said top surface of said bottom wall extending generally horizontally such that a bottle is selectively received on said top surface in its proper orientation for use.

The bottle mounting system of claim 2, wherein, when said first and second jaws are mounted to the support member such that said clamp mount is presented in a horizontal surface of said first jaw, said bottom mount selectively mates with said clamp mount to present said bottle holder in the bottom-mounted orientation, with said top surface of said bottom wall extending generally horizontally such that a bottle is selectively received on said top surface in its proper orientation for use.

The bottle mounting system of claim 3, wherein said bottom mount and said clamp mount selectively mate to mount said bottle holder to said first jaw in a bottom-mounted orientation, and said bottom mount and clamp mount are configured so that said bottle holder can be mounted to said clamp mount in different orientations rotated about a vertical axis of said bottle holder, and said rear mount and said clamp mount selectively mate to mount said bottle holder to said first jaw in a rear-mounted orientation, and said rear mount and clamp mount are configured so that said bottle holder can be mounted to said clamp mount in different orientations rotated about a horizontal axis of said bottle holder.

The bottle mounting system of claim 3, wherein said bottom mount is selected from a male mount and a female mount, said rear mount is selected from a male mount and a female mount, with the proviso that said rear mount and said bottom mount are selected to be the same, and said clamp mount is selected from a male mount and a female mount, with the proviso that if said bottom and rear mounts are selected to be male mounts, said clamp mount is selected to be a female mount, and, if said bottom mount and said rear mount are selected to be female mounts, said clamp mount is selected to be a male mount.

The bottle mounting system of claim 5, wherein said clamp mount is a male mount that includes a post and a flange extending therefrom, said rear mount being a female mount including a track such that said rear mount selectively receives said flange to mount said bottle in the rear-mounted orientation, and said bottom mount, due to the proviso that it be the same as said rear mount, is a female mount including a track such that said bottom mount selectively receives said flange to mount said bottle in the bottom-mounted orientation.

7. The bottle mounting system of claim 6, wherein said clamp mount is selectively received in said track of said rear mount in multiple orientations so as to allow said bottle holder to be mounted to said clamp mount at said rear mount in multiple orientations.

The bottle mounting system of claim 7, wherein said flange of said clamp mount has a periphery with outermost edges that define a regular polygon having an even number of sides, such that a first set of two opposed sides of said regular polygon are selectively received in said track of said rear mount to selectively mount said bottle holder to said clamp mount in a first orientation or a second orientation offset 180 degrees from said first orientation, and a second set of two opposed sides of said regular polygon are selectively received in said track of said rear mount to selectively mount said bottle holder to said clamp mount in a third orientation or a fourth orientation offset 180 degrees from said third orientation.

The bottle mounting system of claim 8, wherein said flange of said clamp mount has a periphery with outermost edges that define a square, such that a first set of two opposed sides of said square are selectively received in said track of said rear mount to mount said bottle holder in either said first or second orientation, and a second set of two opposed sides of said square are selectively received in said track of said rear mount to mount said bottle holder in either said third or fourth orientation.

10. The bottle mounting system of claim 6, wherein said clamp mount is selectively received in said track of said bottom mount in multiple orientations so as to allow said bottle holder to be mounted to said clamp mount at said bottom mount in multiple orientations.

The bottle mounting system of claim 10, wherein said flange of said clamp mount has a periphery with outermost edges that define a regular polygon having an even number of sides, such that a first set of two opposed sides of said regular polygon are selectively received in said track of said bottom mount to selectively mount said bottle holder to said clamp mount in either a first orientation or a second orientation that is offset 180 degrees from said first orientation, and a second set of two opposed sides of said regular polygon are selectively received in said track of said bottom mount to selectively mount said bottle holder to said clamp mount in either a third orientation or a fourth orientation that is offset 180 degrees from said third orientation.

The bottle mounting system of claim 11, wherein said flange of said clamp mount has a periphery with outermost edges that define a square, such that a first set of two opposed sides of said square are selectively received in said track of said bottom mount to mount said bottle holder in either said first or second orientation, and a second set of two opposed sides of said square are selectively received in said track of said rear mount to mount said bottle holder in either said third or fourth orientation.

13. The bottle mounting system of claim 6, wherein said bottom mount includes a releasable bottom latch that engages said clamp mount in said bottom-mounted position, and said rear mount includes a releasable rear latch that engages said clamp mount in said rear-mounted position.

The bottle mounting system of claim 13, wherein said track of said bottom mount defines a mounting path and said releasable bottom latch includes a lever arm providing a latch member that extends into said mounting path so as to engage a peripheral surface of said flange of said clamp mount and retain said flange within said track.

15. The bottle mounting system of claim 1, wherein said releasable locking member includes:

a pawl held by one of said first jaw and said second jaw, and

a ratchet rack held by the other of said first jaw and said second jaw, said ratchet rack providing teeth, said pawl being biased to engage said teeth of said ratchet rack in an engaged position, wherein, in said engaged position, said pawl ratchets over said teeth as said first clamp surface is toward said second clamp surface, and, in said engaged position, said pawl prevents movement of said first clamp surface away from said second clamp surface.

16. The bottle mounting system of claim 15, wherein said releasable locking member further includes:

a switch engaging said pawl and selectively manipulated to move said pawl from said engaged position to a disengaged position wherein said pawl does not engage said teeth of said ratchet rack and said first clamp surface is not prevented from moving away from said second clamp surface.

The bottle mounting system of claim 1, wherein said first clamp surface is mounted to a threaded screw extending through a threaded bore in said first jaw, said threaded screw being selectively rotated to micro-adjust the positioning of said first clamp surface relative to said second clamp surface.

The bottle mounting system of claim 1, wherein said bottom mount and said rear mount are joined to provide a continuous mount such that said clamp mount is selectively moved between said bottom-mounted orientation and said rear-mounted orientation without disengaging said clamp mount and said continuous mount.

The bottle mounting system of claim 1, wherein said top surface of said bottom wall of said bottle holder is shaped to received a bottle of a first shape, and the system further comprises an adaptor member that is selectively received at said top surface, said adaptor providing a top surface for receipt of a bottle of a second shape.

20. A method for providing a desired product for use at a desired location within a facility, the method including the steps of:

providing a plurality of clamps, each clamp being mounted to a support member at a distinct location within the facility;

providing a plurality of bottle holders, each bottle holder retaining a bottle holding a desired product for use in the facility, each bottle holder being selectively mountable to any one of said plurality of clamps;

providing individuals within the facility one of said plurality of bottle holders, wherein the individuals carry that bottle holder to a given distinct location where one of said plurality of clamps is located and selectively mount that bottle holder to that clamp so as to provide the bottle of product retained therein at a desired location for use.
