1. A computer system, comprising:
- an input device;
an output device;
a processor configured tofor each of a plurality of medical treatments,receive, using the input device, information relating to benefits and risks for each of a plurality of predetermined critical factors;
assign a weight to each of the predetermined critical factors to reflect relative importance of each critical factor;
score each of the critical factors, using the input information in accordance with the assigned weighting; and
output a scorecard including, for each of the medical treatments, information relating to the scored critical factors for that medical treatment.

Abstract
An evaluative software tool to support the assessment of health care-related technologies during development to facilitate making critical decisions for an optimized research, development and commercialization plan is provided. The software tool includes the ability to measure, weight, and integrate the critical factors that come into play in the development of a risk/benefit profile of a technology relative to its competitors, benchmarked around clinical trial measures, in order to determine its development and commercialization success.

8. A computer system, comprising:
-
an input device; an output device; a processor configured to (a) assign a total potential score; (b) apportion, according to a first predetermined ratio, the total potential score into a total potential benefit score and a total potential risk score; (c) apportion, according to a second predetermined ratio, the total potential benefit score among each of a plurality of predetermined categories to arrive at a total potential benefit score for each of the predetermined categories; (d) apportion, according to a third predetermined ratio, the total potential risk score among each of a plurality of predetermined categories to arrive at a total potential risk score for each of the predetermined categories; and (e) for each of the plurality of predetermined categories, assign to each of a plurality of predetermined critical factors associated with that category a critical factor weighting; (f) for each of a plurality of medical treatments, determine a score for each of the predetermined critical factors, the score calculated using a value inputted using the input device, and if the critical factor is classified as a benefit, the total potential benefit score for the category associated with the critical factor weighted by the critical factor weighting;
or, if the critical factor is classified as a risk, the total potential risk score for the category associated with the critical factor weighted by the critical factor weighting; and(g) using the output device, output a scorecard including, for each of the medical treatments, information relating to the scoring. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11)
