Abstract

Disclosed are a computer system storing with a restoration program and a method of updating the restoration program, the computer system including: a first storage unit in which a predetermined program is installed, a second storage unit in which a restoration program corresponding to the program is stored, a communication unit which communicates with an external server, a user input unit, and a controller which stores an update file corresponding to the program received from the external server in the first storage unit, and updates the program installed in the first storage with the update file, the controller updating the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file of the first storage unit if receiving a certain key input through the user input unit, and restoring the program on the basis of the updated restoration program.

Claims

1. A computer system comprising:

a first storage unit in which a program is installed;

a second storage unit in which a restoration program corresponding to the program is stored;

a communication unit which communicates with an external server;

a user input unit; and

a controller which stores an update file corresponding to the program received from the external server in the first storage unit, and updates the program installed in the first storage with the update file,

wherein the controller updates the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file of the first storage unit if receiving a certain key input through the user input unit, and restores the program on the basis of the updated restoration program,

2. The computer system according to claim 1, wherein the first storage unit further stores a program list including a list of the program, and

the controller updates the program list of the first storage unit on basis of information about the updated program.

3. The computer system according to claim 2, wherein the second storage unit further stores a restoration program list including a list of the restoration program, and

the controller compares the restoration program list of the second storage unit with the program list of the first storage unit, selects a restoration program of the second storage unit to be updated on basis of the program list of the first storage unit if the restoration program list of the second storage unit and the program list of the first storage unit are different from each other, and selects and stores the update file of the first storage unit corresponding to the selected restoration program in the second storage unit.

The computer system according to claim 3, wherein the controller updates the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file stored in the second storage unit, and updates the restoration program list of the second storage unit on basis of information of an updated restoration program if the restoration program of the second storage unit is updated.

5. The computer system according to claim 4, wherein each of the program list and the restoration program list comprises at least one of an identification number, a name, explanation, version information, and an installation method of each program.

6. The computer system according to claim 5, wherein the first storage unit comprises a first operating system installed therein, and

the controller receives the update file from the external server through the communication unit under the first operating system.

7. The computer system according to claim 6, wherein the second storage unit comprises a second operating system installed therein, and

the controller boots up the second operating system if receiving the certain key input, accesses the first storage unit and updates the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file.

8. The computer system according to claim 7, wherein the controller cannot access the second storage unit normally under the first operating system.

9. A computer system comprising:

a first storage unit in which a program is installed;

a second storage unit in which a restoration program corresponding to the program is stored;

a communication unit which communicates with an external server;

a user input unit;

an interface unit which can access the second storage unit; and

a controller which stores an update file corresponding to the program received from the external server in the first storage unit, and updates the program installed in the first storage with the update file,

wherein the controller accesses the second storage unit through the interface unit and updates the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file of the first storage unit, and

wherein the controller restores the program with the updated restoration program if receiving a certain key input through the user input unit.

10. The computer system according to claim 9, wherein the first storage unit further stores a program list including a list of the program, and

the controller updates the program list of the first storage unit on basis of information about the updated program.

11. The computer system according to claim 10, wherein the second storage unit further stores a restoration program list including a list of the restoration program, and

the controller compares the restoration program list of the second storage unit with the program list of the first storage unit, selects a restoration program of the second storage unit to be updated on basis of the program list of the first storage unit if the restoration program list of the second storage unit and the program list of the first storage unit are different from each other, and selects and stores the update file of the first storage unit corresponding to the selected restoration program in the second storage unit through the interface unit.

The computer system according to claim 11, wherein the controller updates the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file stored in the second storage unit, and updates the restoration program list of the second storage unit on basis of information of an updated restoration program if the restoration program of the second storage unit is updated.

13. The computer system according to claim 12, wherein each of the program list and the restoration program list comprises at least one of an identification number, a name, explanation, version information, and an installation method of each program.

14. The computer system according to claim 13, wherein the first storage unit further comprises a first operating system installed therein, and

the controller receives the update file from the external server through the communication unit under the first operating system.

15. The computer system according to claim 14, wherein the second storage unit comprises a second operating system installed therein, and

the controller boots up the second operating system if receiving the certain key input, and restores the program with the updated restoration program.

16. The computer system according to claim 15, wherein the controller cannot access the second storage unit normally under the first operating system.

17. A program restoring method of a computer system, the method comprising:

receiving an update file corresponding to a program installed in the first storage unit;

storing the received update file in the first storage unit;

updating the program with the stored update file;

updating a restoration program stored in a second storage unit and corresponding to the program on basis of the update file of the first storage unit if receiving a certain key input through a user input unit; and

restoring the program with the updated restoration program,

18. The method according to claim 17, wherein the first storage unit further stores a program list including a list of the program, and

the method further comprises updating the program list of the first storage unit on basis of information about the updated program.

19. The method according to claim 18, wherein the second storage unit further stores a restoration program list including a list of the restoration program, and

the method further comprises:

comparing a restoration program list of the second storage unit with the program list of the first storage unit;

selecting a restoration program of the second storage unit to be updated on basis of the program list of the first storage unit if the restoration program list of the second storage unit and the program list of the first storage unit are different from each other; and

selecting and storing the update file of the first storage unit corresponding to the selected restoration program in the second storage unit.

20. The method according to claim 19, wherein the updating the restoration program comprises updating the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file stored in the second storage unit,

the method further comprising updating the restoration program list of the second storage unit on basis of information of an updated restoration program if the restoration program of the second storage unit is updated.

21. The method according to claim 20, wherein each of the program list and the restoration program list comprises at least one of an identification number, a name, explanation, version information, and an installation method of each program.

22. The method according to claim 21, wherein the first storage unit comprises a first operating system installed therein, and

the receiving the update file comprises receiving the update file from the external server through a communication unit under the first operating system.

23. The method according to claim 22, wherein the second storage unit comprises a second operating system installed therein, and

the updating the restoration program comprises booting up the second operating system if receiving the certain key input, accessing the first storage unit and updating the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file,

24. The method according to claim 23, wherein the second storage unit is not accessible normally under the first operating system.

32. The method according to claim 23, wherein the second storage unit is not accessible normally under the first operating system.

25. A program restoring method of a computer system, the method comprising:

receiving an update file corresponding to a program installed in the first storage unit;

storing the received update file in the first storage unit;

updating the program with the stored update file;

accessing the second storage unit through an interface unit capable of accessing the second storage unit in which a restoration program corresponding to the program is stored, and updating the restoration program of the second storage unit on basis of the update file of the first storage unit; and

restoring the program with the updated restoration program if receiving a certain key input through a user input unit

26. The method according to claim 25, wherein the first storage unit further stores a program list including a list of the program, and

the method further comprises updating the program list of the first storage unit on basis of information about the updated program.

27. The method according to claim 26, wherein the second storage unit further stores a restoration program list including a list of the restoration program, and the method further comprises:

comparing a restoration program list of the second storage unit with the program list of the first storage unit;

selecting a restoration program of the second storage unit to be updated on basis of the program list of the first storage unit if the restoration program list of the second storage unit and the program list of the first storage unit are different from each other; and

selecting and storing the update file of the first storage unit corresponding to the selected restoration program in the second storage unit.

28. The method according to claim 27, wherein the updating the restoration program comprises updating the restoration program of the second storage unit with the update file stored in the second storage unit, and

the method further comprises updating the restoration program list of the second storage unit on basis of information of an updated restoration program if the restoration program of the second storage unit is updated.

29. The method according to claim 28, wherein each of the program list and the restoration program list comprises at least one of an identification number, a name, explanation, version information, and an installation method of each program.

30. The method according to claim 29, wherein the first storage unit comprises a first operating system installed therein, and

the receiving the update file comprises receiving the update file from the external server through the communication unit under the first operating system.

31. The method according to claim 30, wherein the second storage unit comprises a second operating system installed therein, and

the restoring the restoration program comprises booting up the second operating system if receiving the certain key input, and restoring the program with the updated restoration program.

33. A computer device comprising:

a first storage unit to store software that includes at least one program installed in the first storage unit;

a second storage unit configured to store at least one restoration program corresponding to the at least one program; and

a controller to control storing of at least one update file corresponding to the at least one program in the first storage unit, and to update the at least one program and the restoration program with the at least one update file.

34. The computer device according to claim 33, wherein the second storage unit is inaccessible via the software of the first storage unit.

35. The computer device according to claim 33, wherein the first storage unit is further configured to store a program list including a list of the at least one program and information regarding the at least one program, and

the controller updates the program list of the first storage unit after updating the at least one program.

36. The computer device according to claim 35, wherein the second storage unit is further configured to store a restoration program list including a list of the at least one restoration program and information regarding the at least one restoration program, and

the controller updates the restoration program list of the second storage unit after updating the at least one restoration program.

37. The computer device according to claim 36, wherein the controller compares the program list and the restoration program list, and selects one of the at least one restoration program to update from the restoration program list based on the comparison.

38. The computer device according to claim 33, wherein the software further includes a first operating system to run the computer device, and

the at least one program is updated under the first operating system.

39. The computer device according to claim 38, wherein the second storage unit further includes a second operating system installed therein, and

the controller boots up the computer device using the second operating system upon receiving a restore key.

40. The computer device according to claim 39, wherein the first storage unit is accessible by the first and second operating systems.

41. The computer device according to claim 39, wherein the second storage unit is accessible by the second operating system and inaccessible by the first operating system.

42. The computer device according to claim 39, wherein the first and the second storage units are located in different partitions within a single storage device.

43. The computer device according to claim 39, wherein the second storage unit is a hidden partition of the hard disk drive that is not recognized by the first operating system,

44. The computer device according to claim 43, wherein a partition table included in a master boot record determines the hidden partition for the second storage unit.

45. The computer device according to claim 39, wherein the controller updates the restoration program based on the at least one update file under the second operating system.

46. The computer device according to claim 45, wherein the at least one update file is copied from the first storage unit and stored in the second storage unit, and the at least one update file stored in the second storage unit is used to update the at least one restoration program under the second operating system.

47. The computer device according to claim 33, wherein the controller restores the at least one program in the first storage unit using the updated at least one restoration program in the second storage unit.

48. The computer device according to claim 33, wherein the first storage unit further includes an interface component that provides an interface to access the second storage unit.

49. A program restoring method of a computer system, the method comprising:

storing in a first storage unit software including at least one program installed in the first storage unit;

storing in a second storage unit at least one restoration program corresponding to the at least one program;

storing of at least one update file corresponding to the at least one program in the first storage unit; and

updating the at least one program and the restoration program with the at least one update file.

50. The method according to claim 49, wherein the second storage unit is inaccessible via the software of the first storage unit.

51. The method according to claim 49, wherein the first storage unit is further configured to store a program list including a list of the at least one program and information regarding the at least one program, and

the method further comprises updating the program list of the first storage unit after updating the at least one program.

52. The method according to claim 51, wherein the second storage unit is further configured to store a restoration program list including a list of the at least one restoration program and information regarding the at least one restoration program, and

the method further comprises updating the restoration program list of the second storage unit after updating the at least one restoration program.

53. The method according to claim 52, further comprising:

comparing the program list and the restoration program list; and

selecting one of the at least one restoration program to update from the restoration program list based on the comparison.

54. The method according to claim 49, wherein the software further includes a first operating system to run the computer device, and

the at least one program is updated under the first operating system.

55. The method according to claim 54, wherein the second storage unit further includes a second operating system installed therein, and

the method further comprises booting up the computer device using the second operating system upon receiving a restore key.

56. The method according to claim 55, wherein the first storage unit is accessible by the first and second operating systems.

57. The method according to claim 55, wherein the second storage unit is accessible by the second operating system and inaccessible by the first operating system.

58. The method according to claim 55, wherein the first and the second storage units are located in different partitions within a single storage device.

59. The method according to claim 55, wherein the second storage unit is a hidden partition of the hard disk drive that is not recognized by the first operating system.

60. The method according to claim 59, wherein a partition table included in a master boot record determines the hidden partition for the second storage unit.

61. The method according to claim 55, wherein the restoration program is updated based on the at least one update file under the second operating system.

62. The method according to claim 61, wherein the at least one update file is copied from the first storage unit and stored in the second storage unit, and the at least one update file stored in the second storage unit is used to update the at least one restoration program under the second operating system,

63. The method according to claim 49, further comprising:

restoring the at least one program in the first storage unit using the updated at least one restoration program in the second storage unit.

64. The method according to claim 49, wherein the first storage unit further includes an interface component that provides an interface to access the second storage unit.
