Abstract

In various example embodiments, systems and methods to provide proximity recommendations are provided. In example embodiments, data representing prioritized recommendations for a user is received. The data representing the prioritized recommendations is used to generated a composite visual representation by embedding select prioritized recommendations into a visual representation. The composite visual representation presents a higher prioritized recommendation in a more spatially prominent manner than a lower prioritized recommendation. The composite visual representation is then presented to the user.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving data representing prioritized recommendations specific to a user;

generating a composite visual representation by embedding the data representing the prioritized recommendations into a visual representation, the composite visual representation to present a higher prioritize recommendation in a more spatially prominent manner and to present a lower prioritized recommendation in a less spatially prominent manner; and

presenting the composite visual representation to the user.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the more spatially prominent manner comprises an appearance of a closer spatial proximity to the user.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the more spatially prominent manner comprises an appearance of a closer spatial proximity to an avatar of the user.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising determining the prioritized recommendation based on at least a profile and preferences of the user.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising determining the prioritized recommendation based on at least past browsing history and past purchase history of the user.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising determining the prioritized recommendation based on one or more attributes of the visual representation, the one or more attributes comprising one or more of subject matter of the visual representations and an interaction of the user with the visual representation.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising determining the prioritized recommendation based on one or more attributes of a past visual representation viewed by the user.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the visual representation is a virtual world.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the visual representation is at least one of a gaming environment, a movie, or a video.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving a selection of a prioritized recommendation and providing access to detailed information directed to the prioritized recommendation.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising processing a purchase transaction related to the selected prioritized recommendation.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein the selected prioritized recommendation references an article of clothing, and the receiving of the selection comprises causing an avatar of the user to be displayed wearing the selected article of clothing.

13. The method of claim 1, further comprising managing accumulation and usage of virtual currency.

14. A system comprising:

an integration module to receive data representing prioritized recommendations specific to a user and to generate a composite visual representation by embedding the data representing the prioritized recommendations into a visual representation, the composite visual representation to present a higher prioritized recommendation in a more spatially prominent manner and to present a lower prioritized recommendation in a less spatially prominent manner; and

a presentation module to present the composite visual representation to the user.

15. The system of claim 14, further comprising a content exchange module to receive a selection of a prioritized recommendation and to provide access to detailed information directed to the prioritized recommendation.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the selected prioritized recommendation references an article of clothing, and the integration module is further to cause an avatar of the user to be displayed wearing the article of clothing.

17. The system of claim 14, further comprising a virtual currency module to further manage accumulation and usage of virtual currency.

18. The system of claim 14, further comprising a search module to determine potentially relevant products to recommend to the user based in part on at least one attribute associated with the visual representation.

19. The system of claim 18, further comprising a recommendation module to prioritize the determined potentially relevant products based on one or more of a user profile, user preferences, a past user purchase history, and a past user browsing history.

20. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium in communication with at least one processor of a machine, the machine-readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

receiving data representing prioritized recommendations specific to a user;

generating a composite visual representation by embedding the data representing the prioritized recommendations into a visual representation, the composite visual representation to present a higher prioritized recommendation in a more spatially prominent manner and to present a lower prioritized recommendation in a less spatially prominent manner; and

presenting the composite visual representation to the user.
