1. An optical measurement device comprising:

  • an illumination and detection assembly configured to output light to a portion of living tissue of a user and detect transmitted or reflected light as a signal; and

    a pressure assembly configured to detect an amount of pressure applied to the illumination and detection assembly by the portion of living tissue of the user,wherein the illumination and detection assembly and pressure assembly are capable of communicating with a feedback unit configured to correlate the quality of the detected signal with the amount of applied pressure and provide feedback related to the correlation to the user.
