Abstract

A digital access control system including an input mechanism which can be operated from an unprotected area and a barrier which opens in response to operation of the input mechanism, wherein an energy store for supplying the barrier with opening power and a communication line for communication with a remote unit in the secure area are provided and the energy store is in a form of a low voltage buffer store and, for supplying power to the low voltage buffer store, a low voltage communication line is provided which has an associated low voltage Power Over Ethernet unit or an associated unit from a similar standard.

12. A digital access control system comprising:

an input means which can be operated from an unprotected area;

a barrier which opens in response to operation of the input means;

an energy store for supplying the barrier with opening power; and

a communication line for communication with a remote unit in the secure area,

wherein the energy store is in a form of a low voltage buffer store and, for supplying power to the low voltage buffer store, further comprising a low voltage communication line which has an associated low voltage Power Over Ethernet unit or an associated unit from a similar standard.

13. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the input means is connected to an assembly arranged in the protected area.

14. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 13, wherein the low voltage buffer store can supply power to at least one from the input means and/or the assembly at least in an emergency.

The digital access control system as claimed in claim 14, wherein the assembly comprises at least one microcontroller, a memory for accepted keys and/or last accesses and/or access attempts with and/or without access times, the low voltage buffer store, and an interface for communication with a remote unit.

16. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the barrier comprises an electromagnetic latch bolt that can be operated to allow passage and/or a catch which is operated by a linear motor.

17. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 16, further comprising a buffer store filling level sensor and a stage for determining an opening period in response to a buffer store filling level.

The digital access control system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the protected area includes an assembly configured to isolate passage opening power from the buffer store for the barrier spasmodically and is further configured to undertake a function of a bus master when needed for communication with other units.

19. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the appliance includes input/output interfaces to be able to automate access to door systems, for outputting a door locking signal and/or a door closing signal.

20. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 12, configured for installation in a standard flush socket.

21. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 12, configured to supply emergency power to an input and/or reception appliance.

22. The digital access control system as claimed in claim 12, further comprising means for encrypted transmission of information between units, of access codes, or for transmission with rolling code.
