1. A method for infusing a fluid into a body from an external infusion device, comprising:
- activating one or more icons displayed on a second module of an external infusion device to select one or more program menus formed by the one or more icons, the external infusion device having a first module, the first module including a reservoir to hold fluid, a pump to pump the fluid from the reservoir, and an alarm, and the second module, the second module including a display and being removably attachable to the first module;
programming pump flow commands to be communicated from the second module, wherein the first module dispenses the fluid through the pump in the first module in accordance with the pump flow commands received from the second module, and wherein the alarm is triggered when a user'"'"'s blood glucose level value goes beyond an allowed value range; and
removing the second module from the first module, wherein the first module continues fluid delivery when not attached to the second module.
