Abstract

In the present invention, image data is edited in response to a demand transmitted from a data-processing apparatus through a network. A moving-picture server (3) acquires a scenario consisting of a plurality of scenes, each lasting for a given time, is acquired in response to a demand made by a personal computer (1-1). The server acquires from a temporary edition space (6) a given number of original data items that will be used in the scenario, also in response to a demand made by the data-processing apparatus. The moving-picture server (3) selects prescribed ones of the original data items acquired and allocate them to the scenes of the scenario acquired. The server corrects the original data items selected, in accordance with the prescribed image data items that have been allocated to the scenes of the scenario. The image data is thereby edited.

Claims

1. An information processing device, comprising:

an interface configured to communicate with and exchange data over a network with a first user device and with at least one second user device; and

a processing unit configured to receive, from the first user device, content data and configuration data related to the content data, the configuration data indicating whether the content data is shared content that can be shared with the at least one second user device, and to store, in a memory, the content data in association with the configuration data.

2. The information processing device of claim 1,

wherein the interface is further configured to receive identification information of a user transmitted from the first user device;

and

the processing unit is further configured to determine, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the received identification information, whether the user is registered.

3. The information processing device of claim 2,

wherein the processing unit is further configured to transmit, to the first device, all thumbnail images stored in the memory that are owned by the user corresponding to the received identification information, when the processing unit determines that the user is registered.

4. The information processing device of claim 3,

wherein the processing unit is further configured to transmit, to the first device with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding content data is a video or a still image.

5. The information processing device of claim 3,

wherein the processing unit is further configured to transmit, to the first device in response to a request from the user, each thumbnail image stored in the memory that has corresponding configuration data indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content.

6. The information processing device of claim 1, wherein the processing unit is further configured to receive, from the first user device, attribute information related to the content data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the content data, and to store, in the memory, the attribute information in association with the content data and the configuration data.

7. An information processing method, comprising:

receiving, from a first user device over a network, content data and configuration data related to the content data, the configuration data indicating whether the content data is shared content that can be shared with the at least one second user device; and

storing, in a memory, the content data in association with the configuration data.

8. The information processing device of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving identification information of a user transmitted from the first user device; and

determining, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the received identification information, whether the user is registered.

9. The information processing method of claim 8, further comprising:

transmitting, to the first device, all thumbnail images stored in the memory that are owned by the user corresponding to the received identification information, when the determining step determines that the user is registered.

10. The information processing device of claim 9, further comprising:

transmitting, to the first device with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding content data is a video or a still image.

11. The information processing method of claim 9, further comprising:

receiving, from the first user device, a request for shared data;

transmitting, to the first device in response to the request, each thumbnail image stored in the memory that has corresponding configuration data indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content.

12. The information processing method of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving, from the first user device, attribute information related to the content data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the content data; and

storing, in the memory, the attribute information in association with the content data and the configuration data.

13. A user device, comprising:

a communication device configured to communicate with and exchange data over a network with an information processing device; and

a processing unit configured to transmit, to the information processing device for storage in a memory of the information processing device, content data and configuration data related to the content data, the configuration data indicating whether the content data is shared content that can be shared with another user device.

14. The user device of claim 13,

wherein the processing unit is further configured to cause a log-in screen to be displayed for a user to enter identification information of the user;

and

the communication device is further configured to transmit the identification information of the user to the information processing device, which determines, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the identification information, whether the user is registered.

15. The user device of claim 14,

wherein the communication device is further configured to receive all thumbnail images stored in the memory of the information processing device that are owned by the user corresponding to the transmitted identification information, when the information processing unit determines that the user is registered;

and

the processing unit is further configured to cause the received thumbnail images to be displayed on a display.

16. The user device of claim 15, wherein the communication device is further configured to receive, from the information processing device together with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding content data is a video or a still image;

and

the processing device is further configured to cause to be displayed on the display, for each thumbnail image of the thumbnail images, an icon corresponding to the respective type information of the thumbnail image.

17. The user device of claim 15,

wherein the communication device is further configured to transmit, to the information processing device, a request for shared content data;

the processing unit is further configured to receive, from the information processing device, each thumbnail image stored in the memory of the information processing device that has corresponding configuration data indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content; and

the processing unit is further configured to cause the received thumbnail images that correspond to shared content to be displayed on the display.

18. The user device of claim 13, wherein the processing unit is further configured to cause an attribute-setting screen to be displayed for a user to enter attribute information related to the content data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the content data;

and

the communication device is further configured to transmit, for storage in the memory of the information processing device in association with the content data and the configuration data, the attribute information entered by the user.

19. A method, comprising:

transmitting, over a network from a user device to an information processing device for storage in a memory of the information processing device, content data and configuration data related to the content data, the configuration data indicating whether the content data is shared content that can be shared with another user device.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising:

causing a log-in screen to be displayed for a user to enter identification information of the user; and

transmitting the identification information of the user to the information processing device, which determines, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the identification information, whether the user is registered.

21. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

receiving all thumbnail images stored in the memory of the information processing device that are owned by the user corresponding to the transmitted identification information, when the information processing unit determines that the user is registered; and

causing the received thumbnail images to be displayed on a display.

22. The method of claim 21, further comprising:

receiving, from the information processing device together with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding content data is a video or a still image; and

causing to be displayed on the display, for each thumbnail image of the thumbnail images, an icon corresponding to the respective type information of the thumbnail image.

23. The method of claim 21, further comprising:

transmitting, to the information processing device, a request for shared content data;

receiving, from the information processing device, each thumbnail image stored in the memory of the information processing device that has corresponding configuration data indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content; and

causing the received thumbnail images that correspond to shared content to be displayed on the display.

24. The user device of claim 19, further comprising:

causing an attribute-setting screen to be displayed for a user to enter attribute information related to the content data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the content data; and

transmitting, for storage in the memory of the information processing device in association with the content data and the configuration data, the attribute information entered by the user.

25. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program that when executed by a computer, causes the computer to perform a method, comprising:

transmitting, over a network from a user device to an information processing device for storage in a memory of the information processing device, content data and configuration data related to the content data, the configuration data indicating whether the content data is shared content that can be shared with another user device.

26. A system, comprising:

an information processing device, including

an interface configured to communicate with and exchange data over a network with a first user device and with at least one second user device; and

a processing unit configured to receive, from the first user device, content data and configuration data related to the content data, the configuration data indicating whether the content data is shared content that can be shared with the at least one second user device, and to store, in a memory, the content data in association with the configuration data; and

the first user device, including

a communication device configured to communicate with and exchange data over the network with the information processing device; and

a controller configured to transmit, to the information processing device for storage in the memory of the information processing device, the content data and the configuration data related to the content data.
