Abstract

A method includes: detecting a first touch at a first location on a touch-sensitive display; detecting a second touch at a second location on the touch-sensitive display; and displaying a navigation indicator on the touch-sensitive display in response to detecting the second touch while first touch contact is maintained.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

detecting a first touch at a first location on a touch-sensitive display;

detecting a second touch at a second location on the touch-sensitive display; and

displaying a navigation indicator on the touch-sensitive display in response to detecting the second touch while first touch contact is maintained.

2. A method as claimed in claim 1, comprising detecting a third touch in a touch area associated with an indicator location after the first and second touches end;

and performing a function associated with the indicator location.

3. A method as claimed in claim 2, wherein a contact area of the third touch is located entirely within the touch area.

4. A method as claimed in claim 1, comprising detecting a third touch not in a touch area associated with an indicator location after the first and second touches end, and no longer displaying the navigation indicator.

5. A method as claimed in claim 1, comprising moving the indicator in response to detecting movement of at least one of the first touch and second touches.

6. A method as claimed in claim 1, comprising displaying the navigation indicator between the first location and the second location.

7. A portable electronic device comprising:

a touch-sensitive display configured to display information; and

a processor connected to the touch-sensitive display to;

detect a first touch at a first location on the touch-sensitive display;

detect a second touch at a second location on the touch-sensitive display; and

display a navigation indicator in a graphical user interface in response to detection of the second touch while first touch contact is maintained.

8. A portable electronic device as claimed in claim 7, wherein the navigation indicator is displayed between the first location and the second location.
