1. A method in a mobile communication device for communicating with a wireless access point, the method comprising:

  • receiving, from the wireless access point, data which indicate a plurality of activated service intervals in a superframe that are made available to mobile devices for communication access;

    attempting to access, during said indicated activated service intervals, a radio medium via the wireless access point; and

    refraining from attempting to access the radio medium via the wireless access point during each power conservation interval in the superframe in between the indicated activated service intervals.
