Abstract

A touch sensor integrated display device is provided comprising gate lines and data lines formed on a substrate to be intersected with each other, a plurality of pixel electrodes formed at intersections between the gate lines and the data lines, and a common electrode formed to overlap the plurality of pixel electrodes through an insulating film disposed between the common electrode and the plurality of pixel electrodes, wherein the common electrode includes at least two touch electrodes, each of which is connected to at least one of signal lines arranged in one of a first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction.

Claims

1. A touch sensor integrated display device comprising:

gate lines and data lines formed to cross each other on a substrate;

a plurality of pixel electrodes at intersections of the gate lines and the data lines; and

a common electrode formed to overlap the plurality of pixel electrodes, with an insulating film interposed between the common electrode and the plurality of pixel electrodes, wherein the common electrode includes two or more touch electrodes, and each of the touch electrodes is connected with at least one of signal lines arranged in one of a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

2. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 1, wherein each of the touch electrodes has a size corresponding to a size of two or more of the pixel electrodes.

3. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 1, wherein the touch sensor integrated display device is driven by a time division process such that touch driving is turned off during display driving, and the display driving is turned off during the touch driving.

4. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 1, wherein during the display driving, the same common voltage is supplied to the two or more touch electrodes through the signal lines, and during the touch driving, a touch driving voltage is sequentially supplied to the touch electrodes.

5. A touch sensor integrated display device comprising:

gate lines on a substrate;

signal lines formed to be spaced apart from the gate lines and parallel to the gate lines;

a gate insulating film on a surface of the substrate on which the gate lines and the signal lines are formed;

data lines on the gate insulating film, wherein the data lines cross the gate lines;

a thin film transistor (TFT) on the gate insulating film, the thin film transistor having a source electrode connected with a data line of the data lines;

a pixel electrode on the gate insulating film, wherein the pixel electrode is connected with a drain electrode of the TFT;

an interlayer insulating film on the gate insulating film on which the data lines, the TFT, and the pixel electrode have been formed, wherein the interlayer insulating film is formed at an intersection of a gate line of the gate lines and a data line of the data lines; and

a common electrode on the interlayer insulating film and connected with the signal lines through contact holes formed in the interlayer insulating film, wherein the common electrode includes two or more touch electrodes, and each of the touch electrodes is connected with the signal lines.

6. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 5, wherein each of the touch electrodes has a size corresponding to a size of two or more of the pixel electrodes.

7. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 5, wherein the touch sensor integrated display device is driven by a time division process such that touch driving is turned off during display driving, and the display driving is turned off during the touch driving.

8. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 7, wherein during the display driving, the same common voltage is supplied to the two or more touch electrodes through the signal lines, and during the touch driving, a touch driving voltage is sequentially supplied to the touch electrodes.

9. A touch sensor integrated display device comprising:

gate lines on a substrate;

a gate insulating film on a surface of the substrate on which the gate lines are formed;

data lines on the gate insulating film, the data lines intersecting the gate lines;

signal lines on the gate insulating film, the signal lines intersecting the gate lines and spaced apart from and paralleled to the data lines;

thin film transistors on the gate insulating film, the thin film transistors each including a source electrode connected to the data lines;

pixel electrodes on the gate insulating film, wherein the pixel electrodes are connected to a drain electrode of the thin film transistors and formed at intersections between the gate lines and the data lines;

an interlayer insulating film on the gate insulating film on which the data lines, the signal lines, the thin film transistors, and the pixel electrodes are formed; and

a common electrode on the interlayer insulating film, wherein the common electrode is connected to the signal lines through contact holes formed in the interlayer insulating film; and

wherein the common electrode includes at least two touch electrodes which are connected to the signal lines, respectively.

10. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 9, wherein each of the touch electrodes has a size corresponding to a size of two or more of the pixel electrodes.

11. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 9, wherein the touch sensor integrated display device is driven by a time division process such that touch driving is turned off during display driving, and the display driving is turned off during the touch driving.

12. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 11, wherein during the display driving, the same common voltage is supplied to the two or more touch electrodes through the signal lines, and during the touch driving, a touch driving voltage is sequentially supplied to the touch electrodes.

13. A touch sensor integrated display device comprising:

gate lines and data lines on a substrate, wherein the gate lines and the data lines intersect each other and form pixel areas at intersections of the gate and data lines;

a plurality of pixel electrodes on the pixel areas;

a common electrode overlapping the plurality of pixel electrodes through an insulating film disposed between the common electrode and the pixel electrodes, wherein the common electrode includes at least two touch electrodes; and

at least one signal line connected to each of the touch electrodes and overlapping the data lines.

14. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 13, wherein the signal lines are formed to be parallel to the data lines.

15. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 13, wherein the signal lines are disposed on areas other than an overlapping area between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode.

16. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 13, wherein each of the touch electrodes has a size corresponding to a size of two or more of the pixel electrodes.

17. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 13, wherein the touch sensor integrated display device is driven by a time division process such that touch driving is turned off during display driving, and the display driving is turned off during the touch driving.

18. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 17, wherein during the display driving, the same common voltage is supplied to the two or more touch electrodes through the signal lines, and during the touch driving, a touch driving voltage is sequentially supplied to the touch electrodes.

19. A touch sensor integrated display device, comprising:

gate lines on a substrate;

a gate insulating film on a surface of the substrate on which the gate lines are formed;

data lines on the gate insulating film, the data lines intersecting the gate lines;

thin film transistors on the gate insulating film, the thin film transistors each including a source electrode connected to the data lines;

pixel electrodes on the gate insulating film, wherein the pixel electrodes are connected to a drain electrode of the thin film transistors and formed on pixel areas defined at intersections between the gate lines and the data lines;

an interlayer insulating film on the gate insulating film on which the data lines, the signal lines, the thin film transistors, and the pixel electrodes are formed;

signal lines on the interlayer insulating film, the signal lines overlapping the data lines;

a passivation film on the interlayer insulating film on which the signal lines are formed; and

a common electrode on the passivation film, wherein the common electrode is connected to the signal lines through via holes formed in the passivation film; and

wherein the common electrode includes at least two touch electrodes which are connected to the signal lines, respectively.

20. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 19, wherein the signal lines are formed to be parallel to the data lines.

21. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 19, wherein the signal lines are disposed on areas other than an overlaying area between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode.

22. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 19, wherein each of the touch electrodes has a size corresponding to a size of two or more of the pixel electrodes.

23. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 19, wherein the touch sensor integrated display device is driven by a time division process such that touch driving is turned off during display driving, and the display driving is turned off during the touch driving.

24. The touch sensor integrated display device of claim 23, wherein during the display driving, the same common voltage is supplied to the two or more touch electrodes through the signal lines, and during the touch driving, a touch driving voltage is sequentially supplied to the touch electrodes.
