1. A method for rendering web content, the method being implemented by one or more processors and comprising:
- (a) rendering a first resource on a user device, the first resource including a plurality of links to other resources;
(b) selecting at least a first link, but not all, of the plurality of links;
(c) in response to rendering the first resource on the user device, automatically caching at least a portion of a second resource located by the first link; and
(d) displaying at least the portion of the second resource in response to a designated triggering event.
