Abstract

An injector for injecting fluid from at least one syringe. The syringe having a plunger. The injector includes a drive member operable to engage the plunger of the syringe. A control system configured to control the at least one drive member. At least one mode operable from the control system. The mode of operation selected from the group consisting of at least one of a sequential injection mode or a simultaneous injection mode.

Claims

1. An injector for injecting fluid from at least one syringe mounted thereon, the syringe having a plunger slidably disposed therein, the injector comprising:

a housing;

at least one drive member at least partially disposed within the housing and operable to engage the plunger of the at least one syringe; and

at least one syringe retaining mechanism associated with the housing, the syringe retaining mechanism adapted to releasably engage the at least one syringe;

a control system configured to control the at least one drive member;

at least one mode operable from the control system,

wherein the mode of operation are selected from the group consisting of at least one of a sequential injection mode or a simultaneous injection mode.

2. The injector system of claim 1 wherein the mode of operation injects at least one of contrast and saline.

3. The injector system of claim 1 wherein the simultaneous injection mode includes a single site injection or a different site injection.

4. The injector system of claim 1 wherein the mode of operation injects at least two fluids of different flow rates or pressures.

5. The injector of claim 1 wherein the sequential injection mode injects at least two phases.

6. The injector of claim 1 wherein the modes of operation include at least a sequential injection mode, a simultaneous injection into a single site and a simultaneous injection into different sites.
