1. A method of regulating blood glucose levels using an insulin pump, the method comprising:
- receiving a current blood glucose level at an insulin pump;
determining whether the current blood glucose level is above a threshold value with the insulin pump;
determining a correction bolus calculation factor to be used by the insulin pump; and
upon determining that the current blood glucose level is above the threshold, automatically calculating a revised correction bolus value with the pump from a preexisting correction bolus value based upon the current blood glucose and the correction bolus calculation factor.

Abstract
Methods of regulating blood glucose levels using an insulin pump are disclosed. A method includes receiving a current blood glucose level, and determining whether the current blood glucose level is above a threshold value. The method also includes calculating a correction bolus value based upon the current blood glucose.

21. An insulin pump comprising:
- a pump mechanism;
a memory configured to store one or more rules, each rule including a threshold and a percentage; a programmable circuit arranged to control the pump mechanism and operatively connected to the memory, the programmable circuit programmed to; prompt a user to input the threshold value and the percentage for at least one rule; receive a current blood glucose level; determine whether the current blood glucose level is above a threshold value; upon determining that the current blood glucose level is above the threshold value, automatically alter a preexisting correction bolus calculation factor according to the at least one rule; calculate a correction bolus value based upon the altered correction factor; and deliver the correction bolus to the user.
