1. A method of programming a programmable schedule of an HVAC controller having a user interface including a display screen, the programmable schedule stored in a memory and having two or more programmable set points, with each set point having a time parameter and a corresponding temperature parameter, the method comprising the steps of:

  • activating a guided programming routine via the user interface of the HVAC controller;

    wherein once activated, the guided programming routine does not require user entry of a number of set points in a day, the routine providing a programmed sequence of two or more screens on the display of the HVAC controller from a first screen to a last screen, wherein the sequence of two or more screens solicits information that is directed to a user'"'"'s activities and comfort and accepts corresponding user responses;

    determining two or more of the programmable set points of the programmable schedule from the user responses; and

    updating the programmable schedule in the memory with the determined two or more of the programmable set points, resulting in an updated programmable schedule.
