Abstract

According to one exemplary embodiment, a content receiving apparatus includes: a first receiver which receives a first identifier of first content from a first external apparatus; a generator which employs the first identifier to generate a second identifier of second content that corresponds to the first content but has different quality from the first content; a transmitter which transmits a content request including the second identifier to a second external apparatus different from the first external apparatus; and a second receiver which receives data of the second content transmitted from the second external apparatus in response to the content request.

Claims

1. A content receiving apparatus comprising:

a first receiver configured to receive a first identifier of first content from a first external apparatus;

a generator configured to employ the first identifier to generate a second identifier of second content that corresponds to the first content but has different quality from the first content;

a transmitter configured to transmit a content request including the second identifier to a second external apparatus different from the first external apparatus; and

a second receiver configured to receive data of the second content transmitted from the second external apparatus in response to the content request.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transmitter is configured to transmit the second identifier to the second external apparatus if the first identifier includes a specific identifier.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the transmitter is configured to transmit the first identifier to the second external apparatus if the first identifier does not include a specific identifier.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein:

the first receiver is configured to receive from the first external apparatus the first identifier of the first content and position data indicating a current replaying position in the first content; and

the content receiving apparatus further comprises a replaying module configured to replay data of the second content from the replaying position indicated in the position data.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the quality includes at least one of resolution, audio bitrate and text amount of contents.

6. A data processing apparatus comprising:

a first selection module configured to select a first content in content data stored on a first external apparatus;

a generator configured to employ a first identifier for the first content to generate a second identifier of second content that corresponds to the first content but has different quality from the first content; and

an identifier transmitter configured to transmit the second identifier to a second external apparatus different from the first external apparatus.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the identifier transmitter is configured to transmit the second identifier to the second external apparatus if the first identifier includes a specific identifier.

8. The apparatus of claim 6 further comprising:

a request transmitter configured to transmit a content request including the first identifier to the first external apparatus if the first selection module selects the first content;

a receiver configured to receive content data transmitted from the first external apparatus in response to the content request; and

a display module configured to display a video of the content data, wherein

the identifier transmitter is configured to transmit the second identifier to the second external apparatus if the display module displays the video.

9. The apparatus of claim 6 further comprising:

a request transmitter configured to transmit a content request including the first identifier to the first external apparatus if the first selection module selects the first content; and

a permission module configured to permit a user to select one of processes of transmitting the second identifier with the identifier transmitter and transmitting the content request with the request transmitter.

10. The apparatus of claim 6 further comprising:

a replaying module configured to replay the content data received by the receiver, wherein

the identifier transmitter is configured to transmit to the second external apparatus the first identifier and position data indicating a current replaying position in the content data.

11. The apparatus of claim 6 further comprising:

a search key input module configured to receive an input of a search key;

an acquisition module configured to employ the search key to receive an identifier of one or more contents relating to the search key;

a second selection module configured to select one of the one or more contents with a identifier received by the acquisition module;

an acceptor configured to accept an operational input after the second selection module selects the content; and

a search key transmitter configured to transmit the search key to the second external apparatus after the acceptor accepts the operational input.

12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein

the second selection module is configured to select the first content from the one or more contents with an identifier received by the acquisition module;

and

the data processing apparatus further comprises a switching module configured to switch processing to be executed between transmitting the second identifier to the second external apparatus using the identifier transmitter and transmitting the search key to the second external apparatus using the search key transmitter.

13. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the quality includes at least one of resolution, audio bitrate and text amount of contents.

14. A content reception method comprising:

receiving a first identifier of first content from a first external apparatus;

employing the first identifier to generate a second identifier of second content that corresponds the first content but has different quality from the first content;

transmitting a content request including the second identifier to a second external apparatus different from the first external apparatus; and

receiving data of the second content transmitted from the second external apparatus in response to the transmitted content request.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the quality includes at least one of resolution, audio bitrate and text amount of contents.
