Abstract

Method and system for integrating different applications like imaging system, audio-video streaming system, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Electronic Health Records (EHR), Patient Health Records (PHR), PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), Lab System and patient monitoring systems/databases/warehouses into single application, wherein all the applications are displayed in a single computer screen/interface preferably by using a common interaction platform, for example a web browser, wherein the web browser provides the patient direct interface in real time with the health care professional. The system enables standardized data, records and content of patients, store the information captured into integrated application database and/or into its objects stored in the application folders.

Claims

1. A method for integrating different applications like imaging system, audio-video streaming system, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), Lab System and patient monitoring systems/databases/warehouses into single application displayed on a single computer screen;

wherein the said method comprising;

gathering content from a plurality of sources as specified by a user whom include patients, caregivers and medical professionals (such as social workers, physiologists, mental health professionals, dieticians, physical therapists, etc.);

associating the plurality of said contents as request by the user with an identified parameter and storing said contents in a computer database accessible to a plurality of authorized users; and

displaying the content from different sources during a collaborative encounter between the respective patient and any respective physician in a single computer screen on a real time basis, providing both read and write access if a user has right credentials.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the content comprises a plurality of data items in a plurality of electronic formats.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the database is accessible to a plurality of users through a communications network.

4. The method of claim 2, the said content includes image, audio, video EMR, or a combination thereof.

5. The method of claim 1, the identified parameter includes at least one of subject information, medication information, dosage information, time/date information, environmental data or physiological data.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the communications network comprises the Internet, intranet, WAN, LAN.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising controlling access of the database according to ownership or authorization interests assigned to information in the database.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising organizing the integrated application based on patient, appointment and condition specific in order to provide rapid access to images when required by patient, family or medical professional when authorized.

9. A system for integrating different systems providing access to images, audio, video streaming, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), Lab System and patient monitoring systems/databases/warehouses into a single computer screen comprising:

a plurality of peripheral devices associated with the user request;

the user, includes but not limited to, include patients, family, caregivers and medical professionals (such as physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, mental health professionals, dieticians, physical therapists, etc.); and

a display means for displaying the content from different sources during a collaborative encounter between the respective patient and any respective medical professional and caregivers in a single computer screen on a real time basis, providing both read and write access if a user has credentials do so.

The system of claim 9, wherein different sources is selected from the groups consisting of computer user-interactive devices (including, but not limited to, mouse, key-board, webcam, microphone, speakers, etc.), patient monitoring and data gathering devices (including, but not limited to, blood pressure monitoring, body weight measurements, etc.), and image capturing devices, or any other related devices.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the content comprises a plurality of data items in a plurality of electronic formats.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the database is accessible to a plurality of users through a communications network.

13. The method of claim 10, the said content includes image, audio, video EMR, or a combination thereof.

14. The method of claim 9, the identified parameter includes at least one of subject information, medication information, dosage information, time/date information, environmental data or physiological data.

15. The method of claim 9, wherein the communications network comprises the Internet, intranet, WAN, LAN.
