Abstract

Methods, systems, and products improve healthcare of patients. An electronic patient chart is retrieved and displayed at a patient room computer system. The electronic patient chart is also displayed at a remotely-located primary computer system, such as a nurse'"'"'s station or other monitoring party. The patient room computer system is linked to the remotely-located primary computer system such that updates to the electronic patient chart received at the patient room computer system are also updated at the primary computer system to permit monitoring.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

retrieving an electronic patient chart;

displaying the electronic patient chart at a patient room computer system;

displaying the electronic patient chart at a remotely-located primary computer system;

linking the patient room computer system to the remotely-located primary computer system;

receiving updated information to the electronic patient chart at the patient room computer system; and

updating display of the electronic patient chart at the primary computer system with the updated information received from the patient room computer system to permit monitoring of the updated information.

2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising associating the electronic patient chart to a room number.

3. The method according to claim 1, further comprising associating the electronic patient chart to a patient.

4. The method according to claim 1, further comprising sending a request for the electronic patient chart.

5. The method according to claim 1, further comprising receiving a request for the electronic patient chart.

6. The method according to claim 1, further comprising receiving a new wireless signal associated with a new room.

7. The method according to claim 6, further comprising associating the new room to a new electronic patient chart.

16. The computer readable medium according to claim 1, wherein the instructions further cause the processor to associate the electronic patient chart to a room number.

17. The computer readable medium according to claim 1, wherein the instructions further cause the processor to associate the electronic patient chart to a patient.

18. The computer readable medium according to claim 1, wherein the instructions further cause the processor to send a request for the electronic patient chart.

19. The computer readable medium according to claim 1, wherein the instructions further cause the processor to receive a request for the electronic patient chart.

20. The computer readable medium according to claim 1, wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:

receive a new wireless signal associated with a new room; and

associate the new room to a new electronic patient chart.

8. A system, comprising:

a patient room computer system displaying an electronic patient chart and receiving updated information to the electronic patient chart; and

a remotely-located primary computer system linked to the patient room computer system, the remotely-located primary computer system displaying the electronic patient chart and receiving the updated information from the patient room computer system, the remotely-located primary computer system updating the electronic patient chart with the updated information to permit monitoring of the updated information.

9. The system according to claim 8, wherein the electronic patient chart is associated to a room number.

10. The system according to claim 8, wherein the electronic patient chart is associated to a patient.

11. The system according to claim 8, wherein the patient room computer system sends a request for the electronic patient chart.

12. The system according to claim 8, further comprising a transceiver that receives a request for the electronic patient chart.

13. The system according to claim 8, wherein the patient room computer system receives a new wireless signal associated with a new room.

14. The system according to claim 13, wherein the patient room computer system associates the new room to a new electronic patient chart.

15. A computer readable medium storing processor executable instructions for performing a method, the method comprising:

retrieving an electronic patient chart;

displaying the electronic patient chart at a patient room computer system;

linking the patient room computer system to a remotely-located primary computer system;

simultaneously displaying the electronic patient chart at both the patient room computer system and at the primary computer system;

receiving updated information to the electronic patient chart sent from the patient room computer system; and

updating the electronic patient chart at the primary computer system with the updated information received from the patient room computer system to permit monitoring of the updated information.
