SYSTEM AND METHOD OF FIXING MISTAKES BY GOING BACK IN AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
First Claim
1. A computer based method of fixing user input errors in a destination address provided to an in-vehicle computing system, the method comprising:
- interpreting the destination address received in a first user input;
presenting the destination address;
receiving a second user input indicating an error in the presented destination address;
identifying a first portion of the destination address that is most likely incorrect, wherein the destination address includes the first portion and a second portion;
requesting a user to re-enter the first portion of the destination address;
receiving a third user input of the first portion of the destination address; and
identifying a destination address based on the third user input of the first portion of the destination address and the first user input of the second portion of the destination address.

Abstract
A system, method, and computer program product for allowing a user to fix errors in a user input is described. An original user input providing a destination address or a point of interest is received by an in-vehicle computing system. Upon receiving a user input indicating an error in interpreting the original user input, the user is presented with a new query requesting the user to enter a portion of or a category associated with the original input. Once the updated user input providing a portion of the original input is received, the user input is identified and executed based on the original user input entry and the updated user input.
