Abstract

Some demonstrative embodiments include devices, systems and/or methods of wirelessly delivering content. For example, a method may include receiving at a first wireless communication device a request from a second wireless communication device via a first communication link of a first wireless communication protocol having a first coverage range, the request indicating requested content to be transferred from the first wireless communication device to the second wireless communication device; transmitting over the first communication link a session-handoff message from the first wireless communication device to the second wireless communication device, the session-handoff message including one or more link-related parameters defining a second wireless communication link of a second wireless communication protocol having a second coverage range, which is greater than the first coverage range; and transmitting the requested content from the first wireless communication device to the second wireless communication device over the second wireless communication link.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving at a first wireless communication device a request from a second wireless communication device via a first communication link of a first wireless communication protocol having a first coverage range, the request indicating requested content to be transferred from the first wireless communication device to the second wireless communication device;

receiving at said first wireless communication device one or more device-configuration parameters from said second wireless communication device over said first communication link, wherein the device-configuration parameters include at least one communication-configuration parameter and at least one processing-configuration parameter, the at least one communication-configuration parameter indicating a capability of said second wireless communication device to communicate according to a second wireless communication protocol having a second coverage range, which is greater than the first coverage range, and the at least one processing-configuration parameter indicating a capability of said second wireless communication device to process said requested content;

based on said device-configuration parameters, determining whether or not said requested content is to be provided to said second wireless communication device; and

if it is determined that said requested content is to be provided to said second wireless communication device;

processing a payment for said requested content by receiving over said first communication link billing data from said second wireless communication device sufficient for performing a monetary transaction with respect to said requested content, wherein said first and second wireless communication devices utilize one or more session keys for securing communication over said first communication link;

transmitting over the first communication link a session-handoff message from said first wireless communication device to said second wireless communication device, the session-handoff message including one or more link-related parameters defining a second wireless communication link of said second wireless communication protocol; and

transmitting said requested content from said first wireless communication device to said second wireless communication device over said second wireless communication link, said transmitting includes utilizing said one or more session keys for securing communication over said second communication link; and

completing said payment upon verifying that said requested content has been successfully delivered to said second wireless communication device over said second wireless communication link.

2. The method of claim 1 comprising:

determining a version of said requested content to be provided to said second wireless communication device based on said at least one processing-configuration parameter, wherein transmitting said requested content from said first wireless communication device to said second wireless communication device comprises transmitting the determined version of said requested content.

3. The method of claim 1 comprising:

determining said link-related parameters based on said device-configuration parameters.

4. The method of claim 1 comprising canceling said payment if said requested content has not been successfully delivered to said second wireless communication device over said second wireless communication link.

The method of claim 1, wherein receiving said request comprises receiving said request via a tapping of said second wireless communication device on said first wireless communication device, and wherein the method comprises automatically performing, in response to said tapping, the receiving of said device-configuration parameters, the processing of said payment, the transmitting of said session-handoff-message, the transmitting of said requested content and the completing of said payment.

7. The method of claim 1 comprising during at least part of the transmitting of said requested content over said second wireless communication link:

receiving another request for content from another device via another communication link of said first wireless communication protocol;

receiving one or more device-configuration parameters from the other device over the other communication link of said first wireless communication protocol; and

transmitting the content requested by the other device from said first wireless communication device to the other device over another wireless communication link of said second wireless communication protocol.

8. The method of claim 1 comprising:

monitoring at said first wireless communication device interference levels of a plurality of wireless communication channels; and

based on said interference levels selecting from said plurality of wireless communication channels a wireless communication channel for said second wireless communication link.

The method of claim 1, wherein said link-related parameters include at least one parameter selected from the group consisting of a frequency channel parameter, a modulation type parameter, a media-access-control parameter, a security parameter and a beamforming parameter related to said second wireless communication link.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein said first wireless communication link comprises a Near-Field-communication (NFC) link.

5. The method of claim 41, wherein said at least one processing-configuration parameter relates to at least one attribute selected to the group consisting of a buffering capability of said second wireless communication device, a write-speed capability of said second wireless communication device, a display capability of said second wireless communication device, free memory space of said second wireless communication device and a power level of said second wireless communication device.

11. An apparatus comprising:

a first wireless communication module to receive a request from a wireless communication device over a first communication link of a first wireless communication protocol having a first coverage range, the request indicating requested content to be transferred to the wireless communication device;

to receive one or more device-configuration parameters from said wireless communication device over said first communication link, wherein the device configuration parameters include at least one communication-configuration parameter indicating a capability of said wireless communication device to communicate according to a second wireless communication protocol having a second coverage range, which is greater than the first coverage range, and at least one processing-configuration parameter indicating a capability of said wireless communication device to process said requested content;

based on said device-configuration parameters, to determine whether or not said requested content is to be provided to said wireless communication device; and

, if it is determined that said requested content is to be provided to said wireless communication device, to process a payment for said requested content by receiving over said first communication link billing data from said wireless communication device sufficient for performing a monetary transaction with respect to said requested content, wherein said first wireless communication module is to utilize one or more session keys for securing communication over said first communication link, and to transmit over the first communication link a session-handoff message to said wireless communication device, the session-handoff message including one or more link-related parameters defining said second wireless communication link; and

a second wireless communication module to transmit said requested content to said wireless communication device over said second wireless communication link, said second wireless communication module is to utilize said one or more session keys for securing communication over said second communication link,

wherein said apparatus is to complete said payment upon verifying that said requested content has been successfully delivered to said wireless communication device over said second wireless communication link.

The apparatus of claim 11, wherein said apparatus is to determine a version of said requested content to be provided to said wireless communication device based on said at least one processing-configuration parameter, and wherein said second wireless communication module is to transmit the determined version of said requested content.

13. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein said apparatus is to determine said link-related parameters based on said device-configuration parameters.

14. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein said apparatus is to cancel said payment if said requested content has not been successfully delivered to said wireless communication device over said second wireless communication link.

15. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein said first wireless communication module is to receive a request from another device during at least part of the transmitting of said requested content over said second wireless communication link.

16. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein said link-related parameters include at least one parameter selected from the group consisting of a frequency channel parameter, a modulation type parameter, a media-access-control parameter, a security parameter and a beamforming parameter related to said wireless communication link.

17. The method of claim 11, wherein said first wireless communication link comprises a Near-Field-communication (NFC) link.

18. An apparatus comprising:

a first wireless communication module to provide a request indication to a wireless communication device over a first communication link of a first wireless communication protocol having a first coverage range, the request indication indicating requested content to be transferred from the wireless communication device, to transmit one or more device-configuration parameters to said wireless communication device over said first communication link, wherein the device-configuration parameters include at least one communication-configuration parameter indicating a capability of said apparatus to communicate according to a second wireless communication protocol having a second coverage range, which is greater than the first coverage range, and at least one processing-configuration parameter indicating a capability of said apparatus to process said requested content, to transmit to said wireless communication device over said first communication link billing data sufficient for performing a monetary transaction with respect to said requested content, to utilize one or more session keys for securing communication over said first communication link, and, based on said device-configuration parameters, to receive over the first communication link a session-handoff message from said wireless communication device, the session-handoff message including one or more link-related parameters defining a second wireless communication link of said second wireless communication protocol; and

a second wireless communication module to receive said requested content from said wireless communication device over said second wireless communication link, said second wireless communication module is to utilize said one or more session keys for securing communication over said second communication link.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein a version of the requested content to be received by said second wireless communication module is based on said at least one processing-configuration parameter.

20. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein said at least one processing-configuration parameter relates to at least one attribute selected to the group consisting of a buffering capability of said apparatus, a write-speed capability of said apparatus, a display capability of said apparatus, free memory space of said apparatus and a power level of said apparatus.
