Abstract

An attachment assembly for the disc of a mobile agricultural device, including a washer configured to attach to a disc of the mobile agricultural device. The washer may be attached to a center location of the disc. The washer is operatively connected to a deflector bar. The deflector bar substantially prevents debris from accumulating between the disc and a fertilizer assembly attached to the disc, as the disc rotates. The deflector bar in other embodiments, may be directly connected to a fertilizer assembly, rather than to the washer.

Claims

1. A deflector for use with a mobile agricultural tool, comprising:

a disc attachment bar configured to attach to a disc of the mobile agricultural tool;

a deflector bar operatively attached to the disc attachment bar; and

a fertilizer bar operatively attached to the disc attachment bar, wherein at a first location the fertilizer bar and the deflector bar are spaced from each other at a predetermined distance.

2. The deflector of claim 1, wherein the disc attachment bar comprises a bolt aperture configured to receive a bolt for securing the disc attachment bar to the disc of an agricultural planter.

3. The deflector of claim 1, wherein the deflector bar is stainless steel.

4. The deflector of claim 1, wherein the deflector bar is welded to the disc attachment bar at a first end.

5. The deflector of claim 1, wherein the deflector bar is integrally formed with the disc attachment bar.

6. The deflector of claim 1, wherein the deflector bar is configured to substantially prevent debris from traveling along the disc towards the disc attachment bar, past the first location.

7. The deflector of claim 1, wherein the fertilizer bar comprises a fertilize tube configured to the deposit fertilizer in a furrow.

8. The deflector of claim 1, wherein the deflector bar is oil tempered wire.

9. A disc attachment for an agricultural planter comprising

a retainer configured to attach to a disc of an agricultural planter;

a deflector bar operatively attached to a bottom portion of the retainer, the deflector bar is angled upwards, such that when the retainer is attached to the disc, the deflector bar is substantially angled towards a top portion of the disc.

10. The disc attachment of claim 9, wherein the deflector bar is stainless steel.

11. The disc attachment of claim 9, wherein the retainer further comprises a center aperture configured to receive a bolt assembly of the disc.

12. The disc attachment of claim 9, wherein the deflector bar is welded to the retainer.

13. The disc attachment of claim 9, wherein the deflector bar and the retainer are integrally formed together.

14. An agricultural planter comprising

a hitch bar configured to attach to a tractor, the hitch bar comprises

at least one wheel for supporting the hitch as is it is pulled by the tractor, the at least one wheel is located at a bottom portion of the hitch bar;

at least one disc for creating a furrow, wherein the disc is located at a bottom portion of the hitch bar adjacent to the at least one wheel;

at least one trash deflector assembly operatively connected to the at least one disc, wherein there is a trash deflector assembly for each at least one disc and the at least one trash deflector assembly is configured to substantially prevent debris from traveling along a complete rotation of the at least one disc.

15. The agricultural planter of claim 14, further comprising at least one fertilizer assembly operatively connected to the at least one disc, wherein there is a fertilizer assembly for each at least one disc, the fertilizer assembly comprising

a fertilizer bar operatively attached to a top portion of each disc;

and

a fertilizer tube operatively attached to a first end of the fertilizer bar, the fertilizer tube configured to deposit fluids within a furrow created by the at least one disc.

16. The agricultural planter of claim 15, wherein the at least one trash deflector assembly further comprises

a deflector bar;

and

a retainer operatively attached to the deflector bar, the retainer operatively connected to the disc at a center point of the disc.

The agricultural planter of claim 16, wherein at a first location the deflector bar and the fertilizer tube are spaced a predetermined distance from each other, and the deflector bar is configure to substantially prevent debris located on the disc from rotating upwards with a rotation of the disc past the first location.

18. The agricultural planter of claim 17, wherein the deflector bar is oil tempered wire.

19. The agricultural planter of claim 17, wherein the deflector bar is stainless steel.
