Abstract

A method provides supervision which includes providing a plurality of information channels for communicating information to the service provider and the user and integrating the information channels to provide access to supervisory functionality for supervising the information channels of the plurality of information channels by way of a single portal. The method provides access to audio/visual functionality, to information record functionality, to diagnostic functionality, to action functionality and to administrative functionality. All functionalities are accessed by way of a portal whereby the portal has access to the functionalities simultaneously. A single accessing of the portal by the user permits the user to gain access to all of the functionalities simultaneously in accordance with the single accessing. The portal can be a web portal. Each of the functionalities is accessed by way of a respective information channel of a plurality of information channels.

Claims

1. A method for providing supervision to a teleconference including a supervision provider and a user, comprising:

providing a plurality of simultaneous information channels that communicate information to said supervision provider and said user, said simultaneous information channels comprising;

an audio/visual channel having audio/visual functionality including audio/visual interaction between said supervision provider and said user;

an information record channel having information record functionality including access to record information relating to said user by said supervision provider;

a diagnostic channel having diagnostic functionality including access to current monitored parameters of said user by said supervision provider;

an action channel having action functionality including action by said supervision provider in response to information received by way of said simultaneous information channels;

an administrative channel that permits administrative functionality including access to financial information relating to said user by said supervision provider; and

a supervision central server having a supervision router with central server ports coupled to a supervision graphical user interface for integrating and synchronizing said simultaneous information channels to simultaneously display said simultaneous information channels and provide to supervisory functionality for supervising said simultaneous information channels by said supervision provider and providing said supervision provider with access to said functionalities simultaneously by way of a single portal coupled to said supervision graphical user interface,

wherein supervising said simultaneous information channels includes at least entering information by said supervision provider into at least one simultaneous information channel in response to information received by said supervision provider by way of another simultaneous information channel.

2. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, wherein said integrated channels provide a virtual supervisory office visit.

3. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference claim 1, wherein said single portal comprises a web portal.

4. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, wherein at least one of said simultaneous information channels comprises a further plurality of information channels.

5. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, further comprising selecting an information channel of said simultaneous information channels for accessing a selected functionality.

6. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, wherein said supervisory functionality comprises supervision of medical functionality.

7. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 6, wherein said record information functionality comprises accessing medical records information.

8. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 7, wherein said diagnostic functionality comprises monitoring at least one medical parameter to provide a monitored medical parameter.

9. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 8, further comprising providing an alert in accordance with said monitored medical parameter.

10. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 8, wherein said action functionality comprises providing a prescription in accordance with said monitored medical parameter.

11. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 6, wherein said administrative functionality comprises providing a bill for said user.

12. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 6, wherein said supervisory functionality comprises sending groupware including a facsimile and email.

13. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, wherein said supervisory functionality comprises supervision of legal functionality.

14. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, further comprising displaying access to all of said functionalities simultaneously on a single web page.

40. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, further comprising viewing information of all simultaneous information channels of said plurality of information channels synchronized simultaneously to said user in real time by way of said supervision graphical user interface.

41. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, wherein records accessed by way of said single portal are available to said supervision provider at a central location during a virtual supervisory office visit in real time.

42. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, wherein said information record functionality comprises accessing redundantly stored data.

43. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 42, wherein said redundantly stored data is stored in a RAID system.

50. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 40, further comprising combining all information channels of said plurality of information channels by way of a supervisory programmatic interface for applying combined channels to said supervision graphical user interface.

51. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, further comprising connecting said supervision provider to an expert by way of said supervision graphical user interface.

52. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, further comprising executing applications of said simultaneous information channels by way of said supervision graphical user interface.

53. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference claim 11, further comprising providing a bill for said user in accordance with chronologically ordered transactions.

54. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, further comprising synchronizing said functionalities to said user.

55. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, further comprising providing said user with access to said supervision graphical user interface.

56. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 1, wherein said virtual supervisory office visit is implemented on a client/server architecture.

15. A system for providing supervision to a teleconference including a supervision provider and a user, comprising:

a single portal to display simultaneous information channels having access to,

audio/visual functionality including audio/visual interaction between said supervision provider and said user,

information record functionality including access to record information relating to said user by said supervision provider,

diagnostic functionality including access to current monitored parameters of said user by said supervision provider,

action functionality including action by said supervision provider in response to information received by way of said simultaneous information channels, and

administrative functionality including access to financial information relating to said user by said supervision provider,

for integrating and supervising said simultaneous information channels by said supervision provider by way of a single portal having a supervision graphical user interface coupled to central server ports of a central server for remote network management of said supervising including monitoring connectivity and latency of said simultaneous information channels,

wherein supervising said simultaneous information channels includes entering information by said supervision provider into at least one simultaneous information channel in response to information received by said supervision provider by way of another simultaneous information channel.

16. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 15, further comprising a single access of said single portal by said supervision provider whereby said supervision provider gains access to all of said functionalities simultaneously in accordance with said single access.

17. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 16, wherein said single access comprises a single access in accordance with a single sign in.

18. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 15, wherein said single portal comprises a web portal.

19. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 15, wherein at least one of said simultaneous information channels comprises further information channels.

20. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 15, further comprising a selected information channel of said plurality of information channels for accessing a selected functionality.

21. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 15, wherein said supervision comprises supervision of medical functionality.

22. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 21, wherein said record information functionality comprises accessing medical records information.

23. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 22, wherein said diagnostic functionality comprises monitoring at least one medical parameter.

24. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 15, wherein said supervision comprises supervision of legal functionality.

25. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 15, further comprising a supervision graphical user interface displaying the information of all of said functionalities simultaneously on a single web page.

47. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference including of claim 15, further comprising a supervision graphical user interface for viewing all of said functionalities synchronized simultaneously to said user in real time by way of said supervision graphical user interface.

48. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 22, wherein a central storage location stores the records of said information record functionality.

49. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 48, wherein said information record functionality comprises a central data base for redundantly storing records in a RAID system.

26. A method for providing supervision to a teleconference including a supervision provider and a user, comprising:

providing access to audio/visual functionality by way of a single portal including audio/visual interaction between said supervision provider and said user;

providing access to information record functionality by way of said single portal including access to record information relating to said user by said supervision provider;

providing access to diagnostic functionality by way of said single portal including access to current monitored parameters of said user by said supervision provider;

providing access to action functionality by way of said single portal including action by said supervision provider in response to information received by way of simultaneous information channels; and

providing access to administrative functionality by way of said single portal including access to financial information relating to said user by said supervision provider,

wherein said single portal has access to said functionalities simultaneously by way of said simultaneous information channels displayed on a single portal having a supervision graphical user interface coupled to central server ports of a central server for remote network management of said supervising including monitoring connectivity and latency of said simultaneous information channels in order to provide supervision of said functionalities including entering information by said supervision provider into at least one simultaneous information channel in response to information received by said supervision provider by way of another simultaneous information channel.

27. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, further comprising single accessing of said single portal by said supervision provider whereby said supervision provider gains access to all of said functionalities simultaneously in accordance with said single accessing.

28. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, wherein said single portal comprises a web portal.

29. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 36, further comprising accessing each of said functionalities by way of a simultaneous information channel.

30. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 29, wherein at least one of said simultaneous information channels comprises further information channels.

31. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 30, wherein said single portal comprises a web portal.

32. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 29, further comprising selecting an information channel of said simultaneous information channels for accessing a selected functionality.

33. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, wherein said supervision comprises supervision of medical functionality.

34. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 33, wherein said information record functionality comprises accessing medical records information.

35. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 34, wherein said diagnostic functionality comprises monitoring at least one medical parameter to provide a monitored medical parameter.

36. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, wherein said supervision comprises supervision of legal functionality.

37. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, further comprising displaying access to all of said functionalities simultaneously on a single web page.

38. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, further comprising synchronizing said functionalities to said user.

39. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, wherein each of said functionalities is provided with a unique IF address.

44. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 28, further comprising a view of all simultaneous information channels synchronized to said user in real time by way of a supervision graphical user interface.

45. The method for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, wherein said information record functionality comprises records available to said supervision provider at a central location during a virtual supervisory office visit in real time.

46. The system for providing supervision to a teleconference of claim 26, wherein said information record functionality comprises redundantly stored data in a RAID system.
