Abstract
A medical device includes an insertable portion capable of being inserted into an orifice associated with a body of a patient. The insertable portion comprising an automated head unit capable of being manipulated in at least two axes of motion based at least in part on one or more control signals. The medical device further includes one or more controllers coupled to the automated head unit. In one particular embodiment, the one or more controllers generate the one or more control signals based at least in part on an input signal.

21. A medical diagnostic system comprising:
-
a software application capable of generating medical data based at least in part on input signals from one or more sensors, wherein the medical data represents at least in part physiological information associated with a patient; the software application capable of operating on a controller adapted to receive, store and process at least a portion of the physiological information, the controller having a touch-screen, one or more auxiliary input devices, circuitry for obtaining position information from a location sensor, and a wireless transceiver to transmit data over a wireless link, the data comprising at least a portion of the processed physiological information, wherein the controller is further capable of receiving voice input signals and manually entered input signals; and a host comprising; a receiver capable of receiving at least a portion of the wireless data over the wireless link; a digital file for storing the received wireless data; control logic at the host to process at least the portion of the wireless data to generate a medical status of the patient; a memory storage device for recording the medical status; and a transmitter capable of communicating at least a portion of the medical status over a communication link to one or more display output devices, wherein the one or more display output devices are located remotely from the host. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27)
