Abstract

A method of Inter-User Equipment (UE) Transfer (IUT) for use in a Home enhanced-Node B (H(e)NB), the method comprising receiving a transfer command from a first IMS capable WTRU via IMS signaling, translating the transfer command to a non-IMS based message, and transmitting the translated non-IMS based message to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS).

Claims

1. A method of Inter-User Equipment (UE) Transfer (IUT) for use in a Home enhanced-Node B (H(e)NB), the method comprising:

receiving an IUT session transfer command via Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) signaling at the H(e)NB;

translating the IUT session transfer command to a non-IMS based message at the H(e)NB; and

transmitting the translated non-IMS based message.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein translating the IUT session transfer command is performed by an IMS/IP Bridge.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a release media request message from an IMS capable wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) via a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Servicer (SCC AS).

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

transmitting a release media request message to an IMS capable WTRU via a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Servicer (SCC AS).

21. The method of claim 1, wherein the IUT session transfer command is received from a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS).

22. The method of claim 1, wherein the IUT session transfer command is received from a first Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) capable wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU).

23. The method of claim 1, wherein the translated non-IMS based message is transmitted to an IP Client from the H(e)NB.

24. The method of claim 1, wherein the translated non-IMS based message is transmitted to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS) from the H(e)NB.

9. A method of Inter-User Equipment (UE) Transfer (IUT) for use in an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) capable wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:

receiving, at the IMS capable WTRU, an IUT session transfer command from a first non-IMS capable WTRU via non-IMS signaling;

translating, at the IMS capable WTRU, the IUT session transfer command to a IMS based message; and

transmitting, from the IMS capable WTRU, the translated IMS based message to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS).

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

receiving, at the IMS capable WTRU, an IMS based message from the SCC AS;

translating, at the IMS capable WTRU, the IMS based message to a non-IMS based message; and

transmitting, from the IMS capable WTRU, the translated non-IMS based message to the first non-IMS capable WTRU.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the IUT session transfer command is received, and the translated non-IMS based message is transmitted,. via a direct peer-to-peer connection with the first non-IMS capable WTRU.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein the IUT session transfer command is received, and the translated non-IMS based message is transmitted, via a peer-to-peer connection with the first non-IMS capable WTRU through the Internet.

13. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

transmitting a release media request message to the non-IMS capable WTRU.

14. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

receiving a release media request message from the non-IMS capable WTRU.

15. An apparatus for Inter-User Equipment (UE) Transfer (IUT) for use in a Home enhanced-Node B (H(e)NB), the apparatus comprising:

a receiver configured to receive, at the H(e)NB, an IUT session transfer command from a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS) via Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS);

a processor configured to translate, at the H(e)NB, the IUT session transfer command to a non-IMS based message; and

a transmitter configured to transmit, from the H(e)NB, the translated non-IMS based message to an IP Client.

16. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the IUT session transfer command is received from a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS).

17. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the IUT session transfer command is received from a first Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) capable wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU).

18. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the translated non-IMS based message is transmitted to an IP Client from the H(e)NB.

19. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the translated non-IMS based message is transmitted to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS) from the H(e)NB.

20. An apparatus for Inter-User Equipment (UE) Transfer (IUT) for use in an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) capable wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the apparatus comprising:

a receiver configured to receive, at the IMS capable WTRU, an IUT session transfer command from a first non-IMS capable WTRU via non-IMS signaling;

a processor configured to translate, at the IMS capable WTRU, the IUT session transfer command to a IMS based message; and

a transmitter configured to transmit, from the IMS capable WTRU, the translated IMS based message to a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server (SCC AS).
