Abstract
Embodiments are directed to providing disruptively priced or free financial services or goods in exchange for participation in opt-in advertising. A user may opt-in to receive some form of advertising on his or her phone. The advertising may appear in a mobile wallet application used to pay for goods or services. The advertising may be related to products the user has previously purchased using the mobile wallet application. An electronic payment system that provides the mobile wallet application tracks and stores items that the user purchases using the mobile wallet. The electronic payment system then analyzes the user'"'"'s purchasing habits to identify advertisements and/or promotions that may be of interest to the user. The promotions (such as coupons) may then be sent to the user'"'"'s mobile wallet application and applied automatically when the user purchases that item using the mobile wallet.
