Systems, methods, and apparatus for coordinating the execution of program files by utility meters and/or the receipt of program file responses are provided. A command associated with a program file to be executed by a utility meter may be received by the utility meter via a network. The command may be formatted in accordance with an Internet-based protocol. The utility meter may process the received command. Additionally, the program file associated with the command may be configured to access one or more tables stored by the utility meter and conforming to an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) C12.19 standard.
