Abstract

A UE or eNnodeB receives a paging configuration or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration of a neighbor cell. The configuration enables calculating when the CSI-RS or muting of the neighbor cell will occur.

Claims

1. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

receiving a paging configuration of a neighbor cell.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising calculating from the paging configuration when a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) of the neighbor cell will occur.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising reporting based only on a CSI-RS of at least one of a serving cell and another neighbor cell when resources corresponding to the CSI-RS of the serving cell or the other neighbor cell are determined to be muted by the neighbor cell based on the paging configuration of the neighbor cell.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising calculating from the paging configuration when muting of the neighbor cell will occur.

5. The method of claim 1, in which the receiving comprises receiving the configuration at a UE (user equipment).

6. The method of claim 5, in which the UE receives paging configurations of a plurality of cells.

7. The method of claim 6, in which the plurality of cells comprise a serving cell and the neighbor cell.

8. The method of claim 1, in which the receiving comprises receiving the configuration at an eNodeB.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising forwarding the received configuration to a UE.

10. The method of claim 8, in which the receiving comprises receiving the configuration via at least one of an S1 interface, an X2 interface, and a operations administration and maintenance (OAM) message.

11. The method of claim 1, in which the paging configuration is included in a message containing at least one of a CSI-RS configuration and a muting configuration of neighboring cells.

12. A method of wireless communication, comprising receiving a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration of a neighbor cell.

13. The method of claim 12, in which the configuration allows a user equipment (UE) to identify subframes containing CSI-RSs or muted subframes.

14. The method of claim 12, in which the configuration comprises an offset and a periodicity.

15. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for receiving a paging configuration of a neighbor cell; and

means for determining at least one of channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) locations and muted resource element locations in accordance with the received configuration.

16. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for receiving a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration of a neighbor cell; and

means for monitoring CSI-RSs in accordance with the received configuration.

17. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured;

to receive a paging configuration of a neighbor cell; and

to determine at least one of channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) locations and muted resource element locations in accordance with the received configuration.

18. The apparatus of claim 17, in which the at least one processor is further configured to report based only on a CSI-RS of at least one of a serving cell and another neighbor cell when resources corresponding to the CSI-RS of the serving cell or the other neighbor cell are determined to be muted by the neighbor cell based on the paging configuration of the neighbor cell.

19. The apparatus of claim 17, in which the at least one processor is further configured to calculate from the paging configuration when muting of the neighbor cell will occur.

20. The apparatus of claim 17, in which the paging configuration of the neighbor cell is received at a UE (user equipment).

21. The apparatus of claim 20, in which the UE receives paging configurations of a plurality of cells.

22. The apparatus of claim 21, in which the plurality of cells comprise a serving cell and the neighbor cell.

23. The apparatus of claim 17, in which the paging configuration of the neighbor cell is received at an eNodeB.

24. The apparatus of claim 23 in which the at least one processor is further configured to forward the received configuration to a UE.

25. The apparatus of claim 23, in which the paging configuration of the neighbor cell is received via at least one of an S1 interface, an X2 interface, and a operations administration and maintenance (OAM) message.

26. The apparatus of claim 17, in which the paging configuration is included in a message containing at least one of a CSI-RS configuration and a muting configuration of neighboring cells.

27. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured;

to receive a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration of a neighbor cell; and

to monitor CSI-RSs in accordance with the received configuration.

28. The apparatus of claim 27, in which the configuration allows a user equipment (UE) to identify subframes containing CSI-RSs or muted subframes.

29. The apparatus of claim 27, in which the configuration comprises an offset and a periodicity.

30. A computer program product for wireless communication in a wireless network, comprising:

a non-transitory computer-readable medium having non-transitory program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising;

program code to receive a paging configuration of a neighbor cell; and

program code to determine at least one of channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) locations and muted resource element locations in accordance with the received configuration.

31. A computer program product for wireless communication in a wireless network, comprising:

a non-transitory computer-readable medium having non-transitory program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising;

program code to receive a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration of a neighbor cell; and

program code to monitor CSI-RSs in accordance with the received configuration.
