A control apparatus for controlling a display apparatus having a liquid crystal panel and a backlight which is configured from a plurality of divided regions and which emits light, with one or more divided regions as one light-emitting unit, based on decided emission brightness of each light-emitting unit, comprising:
- a control unit that sets, upon displaying a second image formed by enlarging a first image, a size of the light-emitting unit larger in comparison to a case of displaying the first image according to an enlargement ratio of the second image relative to the first image.
