Abstract

A search ranking system may include a context mining module to determine a set of contexts based on profile of information rankable by the system and an access history of users that have accessed at least some of the information. A context detection module may compare an association of a user conducting a search with one or more of the contexts to thereby rank search results based on the comparison.

Claims

1. A search ranking system comprising:

a context mining module, executed by a processor, to determine a set of contexts based on profile of information rankable by the system and an access history of users that have accessed at least some of the information; and

a context detection module to compare an association of a user conducting a search with at least one of the contexts to thereby rank search results based on the comparison.

2. The search ranking system of claim 1, wherein the context mining module further determines the set of contexts based on a profile of at least one of the users.

3. The search ranking system of claim 1, wherein the context detection module compares the association of the user conducting the search based on a user profile.

4. The search ranking system of claim 1, wherein the information includes documents rankable by the system.

5. The search ranking system of claim 1, further comprising a graphics search module to classify and index graphics contained in the information.

The search ranking system of claim 1, wherein the context mining module generates an association score for each of the contexts with each of the users, and a further association score for each of the contexts with the information, wherein the association scores are used by the context detection module to rank the search results.

The search ranking system of claim 1, wherein the context detection module determines an association score for the user based on comparison of a user profile with the contexts of each of the users, a further association score for search result information based on comparison of the search result information with the contexts, and an overall association score based on the association scores to rank the search results.

8. The search ranking system of claim 1, further comprising a process mining module to rank the search results based on a sequence of search result information reviewed by the user.

9. The search ranking system of claim 1, further comprising a personalized context module to generate personalized clusters based on the contexts, and a resource re-ranking module to re-rank the search results based on manipulation of at least one of the personalized clusters.

10. The search ranking system of claim 1, further comprising a visual filters module to generate filters related to most frequent metadata values related to a query by the user, wherein the search results are re-ranked by manipulation of co-occurring metadata values.

11. The search ranking system of claim 1, further comprising a collaboration bar to allow the user to connect with other users of the system at least one of searching for similar information and working in similar context based on the context detection module.

12. A method for search ranking, the method comprising:

determining, by a processor, a set of contexts based on profile of rankable information and an access history of users that have accessed at least some of the rankable information; and

comparing an association of a user conducting a search with at least one of the contexts to thereby rank search results based on the comparison.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising determining the set of contexts based on a profile of at least one of the users.

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising comparing the association of the user conducting the search based on a user profile.

15. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

generating an association score for each of the contexts with each of the users, and a further association score for each of the contexts with the information; and

ranking the search results based on the association scores.

16. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

determining an association score for the user based on comparison of a user profile with the contexts of each of the users, a further association score for search result information based on comparison of the search result information with the contexts; and

ranking the search results based on an overall association score based on the association scores.

17. The method of claim 12, further comprising ranking the search results based on a sequence of search result information reviewed by the user.

18. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

generating personalized clusters based on the contexts; and

re-ranking the search results based on manipulation of at least one of the personalized clusters.

19. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

generating filters related to most frequent metadata values related to a query by the user; and

re-ranking the search results by manipulation of co-occurring metadata values.

20. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon a computer executable program for search ranking, the computer executable program when executed causes a computer system to:

determine, by a processor, a set of contexts based on profile of rankable information and an access history of users that have accessed at least some of the rankable information; and

compare an association of a user conducting a search with at least one of the contexts to thereby rank search results based on the comparison.
