Abstract

A timeout time used when acquiring data is decided based on data to be acquired from a server.

Claims

1. An information processing apparatus comprising:

a specifying unit configured to specify data which is stored in a server and is to be acquired from the server; and

a decision unit configured to decide, based on the data which is specified by said specifying unit, a timeout time used when the data is acquired from the server.

2. The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said decision unit decides a timeout time between an external apparatus of the information processing apparatus and the server when the external apparatus acquires data stored in the server.

The apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said specifying unit specifies the data to be acquired, and an access destination to be accessed by the external apparatus, and a determination unit determines contents of processing to be executed for the data in accordance with the data and access destination specified by said specifying unit.

4. The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the information processing apparatus including said decision unit acquires data to be acquired from the server.

5. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a determination unit configured to determine contents of processing to be executed for the data by a processing unit when the data is acquired,

wherein said decision unit decides a timeout value based on the contents of processing determined by said determination unit.

6. The apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the processing unit executes conversion processing to convert a data format of the data to be acquired, and said determination unit determines presence/absence of the conversion processing by the processing unit.

7. The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said specifying unit specifies the data to be acquired and a data size of the data, and said decision unit decides a timeout value based on the data and the data size of the data specified by said specifying unit.

8. An information processing method comprising:

specifying data which is stored in a server and is to be acquired from the server; and

deciding, based on the specified data, a timeout time used when acquiring the specified data from the server.

9. A computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute

specifying data which is stored in a server and is to be acquired from the server by an acquisition unit, and

deciding, based on the specified data, a timeout time used when the acquisition unit acquires the specified data from the server.
