1. A method comprising:
- a) recording and time stamping automobile data obtained from a plurality of sensors installed in an automobile;
b) transmitting, by a wireless device, a random access preamble on a first plurality of OFDM subcarriers of an uplink carrier to a base station when a pre-defined condition is met based on at least one of the following;
i) said automobile data;
ii) the current time; and
iii) a user input;
c) transmitting a first message destined for a server in a communication network, by said wireless device to said base station over a non-GBR bearer, said first message encrypted using a first encryption key;
said first message configured to trigger establishment of a connection to said server;
d) receiving, by said wireless device, a second message originating from said server from said base station over said non-GBR bearer, said second message configured to cause the start of transmission of said automobile data from said wireless device to said server;
said second message encrypted using a second encryption key;
e) encrypting, by said wireless device, said automobile data using said first encryption key; and
f) transmitting, by said wireless device, said encrypted automobile data to said base station, said base station configured to decrypt said automobile data before forwarding said automobile data to said server.

Abstract
A device transmits automobile data to a server in a communication network. The device records the automobile data obtained from a plurality of sensors installed in the automobile. The device transmits a random access preamble on a first plurality of subcarriers of an uplink carrier to a base station, when a pre-defined condition is met. The device encrypts the automobile data using a first encryption key and transmits the encrypted automobile data to a server via a base station. The base station decrypts the automobile data before forwarding it to the server.

a) recording automobile data obtained from a plurality of sensors installed in an automobile; b) transmitting, by a wireless device, a random access preamble on a first plurality of subcarriers of an uplink carrier to a base station, when a pre-defined condition is met based, at least in part, on said automobile data collected from said plurality of sensors or the current time or a user input;
the transmission timing of said random access preamble determined based, at least in part, on a synchronization signal received from said base station;c) receiving, by said wireless device, a time alignment command from said base station in response to transmitting said random access preamble; d) adjusting uplink signal transmission timing of said uplink carrier according to said time alignment command causing substantial alignment of frame and subframe reception timing at said base station of said uplink carrier; e) generating encrypted automobile data by encrypting said automobile data using a first encryption key; and f) transmitting, by said wireless device, said encrypted automobile data to said base station employing an established non-GBR bearer, said base station configured to decrypt said automobile data before forwarding said automobile data to a server in a communication network. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)
