Abstract

An image processing device includes an acquiring section, a determining section, a storage section, and a reacquiring section. The acquiring section is configured to acquire data based on reference information indicative of a reference location on a network. The determining section is configured to determine whether the acquiring section succeeds or fails in acquisition of the data. The storage section is configured to store the reference information when the determining section determines that the acquiring section fails in acquisition of the data. The reacquiring section is configured to reacquire data based on the reference information stored in the storage section.

Claims

1. An image processing device comprising:

an acquiring section configured to acquire data based on reference information indicative of a reference location on a network;

a determining section configured to determine whether the acquiring section succeeds or fails in acquisition of the data;

a storage section configured to store the reference information when the determining section determines that the acquiring section fails in acquisition of the data; and

a reacquiring section configured to reacquire data based on the reference information stored in the storage section.

2. The image processing device according to claim 1, further comprising:

a reason determining section configured to determine a reason why the acquiring section fails in acquisition of the data; and

a setting section configured to set a method in which the reacquiring section reacquires the data based on the reason determined by the reason determining section,

wherein the reacquiring section is configured to reacquire the data with the method set by the setting section.

3. The image processing device according to claim 2, further comprising:

a receiving section configured to receive a status code; and

a status-code determining section configured to determine whether the status code received by the receiving section matches a predetermined status code,

wherein, when the status code received by the receiving section matches the predetermined status code, the reason determining section is configured to determine that an error corresponding to the status code is the reason why the acquiring section fails in acquisition of the data.

The image processing device according to claim 2, wherein, when the status code received by the receiving section matches a status code including other reference information, the setting section is configured to set the method in such a manner that the reacquiring section reacquires data corresponding to the other reference information.

5. The image processing device according to claim 4, wherein the setting section is configured to set the method in such a manner that the reacquiring section reacquires the data corresponding to the other reference information instantaneously.

The image processing device according to claim 2, wherein, when an error for the reason of failure is an error that occurs temporarily, the setting section is configured to set the method in such a manner that the reacquiring section reacquires the data in a shorter period than a case when the error for the reason of failure is an error that takes a long time before the error is resolved.

7. The image processing device according to claim 2, further comprising a timer configured to measure time,

wherein the reason determining section is configured to determine that the reason of failure is shortness of time when the time measured by the timer is longer than or equal to a predetermined period.

8. The image processing device according to claim 2, wherein the reason determining section is configured to determine that the reason of failure is shortness of time when the receiving section receives a status code indicative of timeout.

9. The image processing device according to claim 1, further comprising:

a detecting section configured to detect a transmission speed of acquiring the data; and

a speed determining section configured to determine whether the transmission speed detected by the detecting section is higher than or equal to a predetermined transmission speed,

wherein the reacquiring section is configured to reacquire the data when the speed determining section determines that the transmission speed detected by the detecting section is higher than or equal to the predetermined transmission speed.

The image processing device according to claim 9, wherein the detecting section is configured to transmit a request packet to the reference location, to measure a response period from timing at which the request packet is transmitted to the reference location to timing at which the request packet is returned, and to detect the transmission speed based on a data amount of the request packet and on the response period.

11. The image processing device according to claim 1, further comprising an image forming section configured to print either the data acquired by the acquiring section or the data reacquired by the reacquiring section.

12. An image processing system comprising:

an acquiring section configured to acquire data based on reference information indicative of a reference location on a network;

a determining section configured to determine whether the acquiring section succeeds or fails in acquisition of the data;

a storage section configured to store the reference information when the determining section determines that the acquiring section fails in acquisition of the data; and

a reacquiring section configured to reacquire data based on the reference information stored in the storage section.

13. A printing device comprising:

a processor;

a network interface connectable to a network;

a memory storing a set of program instructions executable by the processor, the set of program instructions comprising;

acquiring data based on reference information indicative of a reference location on the network;

determining whether acquisition of the data succeeds or fails;

storing the reference information in the memory when acquisition of the data fails; and

reacquiring data based on the reference information stored in the memory; and

an image forming section configured to print either the data acquired in the instructions for acquiring data or the data reacquired in the instructions for reacquiring data.

14. The printing device according to claim 13, wherein the set of program instructions further comprises:

determining a reason why acquisition of the data fails; and

setting a method in which the data are reacquired based on the reason; and

wherein the instructions for reacquiring data comprise reacquiring the data with the method.

15. The printing device according to claim 14, wherein the set of program instructions further comprises:

receiving a status code; and

determining whether the received status code matches a predetermined status code; and

wherein the instructions for determining a reason comprise, when the received status code matches the predetermined status code, determining that an error corresponding to the status code is the reason why acquisition of the data fails.

16. The printing device according to claim 14, wherein the instructions for setting a method comprise, when the received status code matches a status code including other reference information, setting the method in such a manner that data corresponding to the other reference information are reacquired.

17. The printing device according to claim 16, wherein the instructions for setting a method comprise setting the method in such a manner that the data corresponding to the other reference information are reacquired instantaneously.

The printing device according to claim 14, wherein the instructions for setting a method comprise, when an error for the reason of failure is an error that occurs temporarily, setting the method in such a manner that the data are reacquired in a shorter period than a case when the error for the reason of failure is an error that takes a long time before the error is resolved.

19. The printing device according to claim 14, further comprising a timer configured to measure time,

wherein the instructions for determining a reason comprise determining that the reason of failure is shortness of time when the time measured by the timer is longer than or equal to a predetermined period.

20. The printing device according to claim 13, wherein the set of program instructions further comprises:

detecting a transmission speed of acquiring the data; and

determining whether the detected transmission speed is higher than or equal to a predetermined transmission speed; and

wherein the instructions for reacquiring data comprise reacquiring the data when the detected transmission speed is higher than or equal to the predetermined transmission speed.
