Abstract

Method comprising steps of at a network entity: —receiving a Routing Area Update message from a UE, —checking whether the Update Type of the Routing Area Update message is Routing Area Update, and —transmitting to a MSC a message containing information related to the network entity if the Update Type of the Routing Area Update message is Routing Area Update.

Claims

1. Method comprising steps of, at a network entity:

receiving a Routing Area Update message from a UE (1),

checking whether the Update Type of the Routing Area Update message is Routing Area Update, and

transmitting to a MSC (4) a message containing information related to the network entity if the Update Type of the Routing Area Update message is Routing Area Update.

2. Method according to claim 1, further comprising a step of receiving from a HSS (6) a message containing information related to the MSC (4) serving the UE (1).

3. Method according to claim 1, further comprising a step of checking whether the UE (1) is capable to perform an rSRVCC procedure from UTRAN/GERAN to E-UTRAN/HSPA, the transmission of the message to the MSC (4) being performed if the UE is capable.

4. Method according to claim 1, further comprising a step of, at the network entity, receiving a Mobility Management and bearer context information of the UE (1) from a second network entity, the second network entity being the previous SGSN (3) serving the UE.

5. Method according to claim 1, wherein the network operates in NOM I, the message containing information related to the network entity being transmitted to an anchoring MSC (4) in an ongoing CS call.

6. Method comprising steps of:

receiving, at a MSC (4), a rSRVCC HO request for a UE (1) from a source radio access network,

sending a message to a HSS (6) to request serving SGSN (3) information for the UE (1),

receiving from the HSS, a message containing information related to the SGSN currently serving the UE.

sending to the SGSN a message for performing rSRVCC HO.

7. Method comprising steps of:

receiving, in NOM II/III, at a MSC (4), a Location Area Update from a UE (1),

receiving from the HSS (6), a message containing information related to the SGSN (3) currently serving the UE.

sending to the SGSN a rSRVCC request for the UE when receiving a rSRVCC request for the UE from a source access network
