Abstract

A method for displaying graphical objects. The graphical objects can be displayed by a control device of a display device in a first or second display mode. The speed of the vehicle is measured, and in a first speed range the graphical objects are displayed in the first display mode and in a second speed range the graphical objects are displayed in the second display mode. Also disclosed is a device for displaying information of graphical objects.

Claims

1. A method for displaying information in a vehicle, the method comprising:

controlling display of a plurality of graphical objects displayed via a control apparatus under control of a display device in a first or a second display mode,

measuring a speed of the vehicle; and

displaying, in a first speed range, the plurality of graphical objects in a first display mode and displaying, in a second speed range, the plurality of graphical objects in the second display mode.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the speed ranges are disjunct.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein transition from one display mode to the other display mode of the first and second display modes involves a hysteresis.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein at least one limit value for at least one of the speed ranges is in the range from 4 km/h to 20 km/h.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the number of the plurality of graphical objects displayed in the first and second display modes is greater than eight.

The method of claim 1, wherein transition from one to the other display mode prompts the control apparatus to actuate the display device to display the plurality of objects presented in one display mode to move toward one another until the displayed plurality of objects combine in a central area, and subsequently move away from one another in a direction of presentation positions in the other display mode.

The method of claim 6, wherein the movement of the plurality of graphical objects from the positions for presentation in one display mode toward one another in the direction of the central area is different than the movement of the graphical objects subsequently away from one another in the direction of the positions for presentation in the other display mode.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the first display mode, the plurality of graphical objects are presented in an arrangement on a virtual ring presented in perspective.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the second display mode, the plurality of graphical objects are presented beside one another, without overlap in a grid, wherein each graphical object has a fixed position in the grid irrespective of a selection of a graphical object.

11. The method of claim 2, wherein a measured speed that exceeds or drops below at least one limit value for the first or second speed ranges prompts a change from one of the two speed ranges to the other of the two speed ranges.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein transition from the first display mode to the second display mode is triggered by a different measured speed than transition from the second display mode to the first display mode.

13. The method of claim 2, wherein transition from one display mode to the other display mode of the first and second display modes involves a hysteresis.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein transition from the first display mode to the second display mode is triggered by a different measured speed than transition from the second display mode to the first display mode.

15. The method of claim 3, wherein at least one limit value for at least one of the speed ranges is in the range from 4 km/h to 20 km/h.

16. The method of claim 2, wherein the number of the plurality of graphical objects displayed in the first and second display modes is greater than eight.

17. The method of claim 2, wherein transition from one to the other display mode prompts the control apparatus to actuate the display device to display the plurality of objects presented in one display mode to move toward one another until the displayed plurality of objects combine in a central area, and subsequently move away from one another in a direction of presentation positions in the other display mode.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the movement of the plurality of graphical objects from the positions for presentation in one display mode toward one another in the direction of the central area is different than the movement of the graphical objects subsequently away from one another in the direction of the positions for presentation in the other display mode.

19. The method of claim 2, wherein the first display mode, the plurality of graphical objects are presented in an arrangement on a virtual ring presented in perspective.

20. The method of claim 2, wherein the second display mode, the plurality of graphical objects are presented beside one another, without overlap in a grid, wherein each graphical object has a fixed position in the grid irrespective of a selection of a graphical object.

24. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein at least one limit value for at least one of the speed ranges is in the range from 4 km/h to 20 km/h.

10. An apparatus for displaying information in a vehicle, the apparatus comprising:

a display device;

a control apparatus that controls display on the display device, wherein the control apparatus controls display of a plurality of graphical objects on the display device in a first or a second display mode; and

a measuring apparatus coupled to the control apparatus and measuring a speed of the vehicle,

wherein the control apparatus actuates the display device in a first speed range to display the plurality of graphical objects in the first display mode and actuates the display device in a second speed range to display the plurality of graphical objects in the second speed mode.

21. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein a measured speed that exceeds or drops below at least one limit value for the first or second speed ranges prompts a change from one of the two speed ranges to the other of the two speed ranges.

22. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein transition from one display mode to the other display mode of the first and second display modes involves a hysteresis.

23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein transition from the first display mode to the second display mode is triggered by a different measured speed than transition from the second display mode to the first display mode.

25. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein the number of the plurality of graphical objects displayed in the first and second display modes is greater than eight.

26. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein transition from one to the other display mode prompts the control apparatus to actuate the display device to display the plurality of objects presented in one display mode to move toward one another until the displayed plurality of objects combine in a central area, and subsequently move away from one another in a direction of presentation positions in the other display mode.

27. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the movement of the plurality of graphical objects from the positions for presentation in one display mode toward one another in the direction of the central area is different than the movement of the graphical objects subsequently away from one another in the direction of the positions for presentation in the other display mode.

28. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein the first display mode, the plurality of graphical objects are presented in an arrangement on a virtual ring presented in perspective.

29. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein the second display mode, the plurality of graphical objects are presented beside one another, without overlap in a grid, wherein each graphical object has a fixed position in the grid irrespective of a selection of a graphical object.

30. A vehicle comprising:

an apparatus for displaying information in the vehicle, the apparatus comprising;

a display device;

a control apparatus that controls display on the display device, wherein the control apparatus controls display of a plurality of graphical objects on the display device in a first or a second display mode; and

a measuring apparatus coupled to the control apparatus and measuring a speed of the vehicle,

wherein the control apparatus actuates the display device in a first speed range to display the plurality of graphical objects in the first display mode and actuates the display device in a second speed range to display the plurality of graphical objects in the second speed mode.
