1. A method of displaying a preference by a first user of a first content contribution submitted by a second user, the method comprising:
- detecting a first preference event by the first user regarding the first content contribution of the second user, wherein the first preference event includes at least one of a positive vote, a negative vote, a submission of content, and a comment;
storing a plurality of detected events; and
in response to a query from a client operated by a third user;
causing a representation of the first content contribution to be rendered graphically in an animation based on at least a first portion of the detected events, including the first preference event; and
causing a representation of a second content contribution to also be rendered graphically in the animation based on at least a second portion of the detected events;
wherein the first representation is graphically rendered in a manner that is different from the second representation based at least in part on the respective first and second portions of the detected events, without intervening action by the third user.

a processor; and a memory coupled with the processor, wherein the memory is configured to provide the processor with instructions which when executed cause the processor to; detect a first preference event by the first user regarding the first content contribution of the second user, wherein the first preference event includes at least one of a positive vote, a negative vote, a submission of content, and a comment; store a plurality of detected events; and in response to a query from a client operated by a third user; cause a representation of the first content contribution to be rendered graphically in an animation based on at least a first portion of the detected events, including the first preference event; and cause a representation of a second content contribution to also be rendered graphically in the animation based on at least a second portion of the detected events; wherein the first representation is graphically rendered in a manner that is different from the second representation based at least in part on the respective first and second portions of the detected events, without intervening action by the third user. - View Dependent Claims (19, 24, 25)
