Abstract

Systems and methods for customizing mobile applications are provided. The systems and methods may include storing one or more computers, an identifier associated with (i) a user and (ii) an entity with whom the user is affiliated; receiving a mobile application request; facilitating delivery of a mobile application to a mobile device associated with the user; receiving the identifier; and directing a delivery of customization information for customizing the mobile application of the mobile device, the customization information associated with one or both of the user or the entity with whom the user is affiliated.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

storing, by a mobile application system comprising one or more computers, an identifier associated with (i) a user and (ii) an entity with whom the user is affiliated;

receiving, by a mobile application system, a mobile application request;

facilitating, by the mobile application system responsive to receiving the mobile application request, delivery of a mobile application to a mobile device associated with the user;

receiving, by the mobile application system in association with an execution of the mobile application by the mobile device, the identifier; and

directing, by the mobile application system to the mobile device based upon the received identifier, a delivery of customization information for customizing the mobile application of the mobile device, the customization information associated with one or both of the user or the entity with whom the user is affiliated.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the mobile application request is a second mobile application request, and prior to receiving the second mobile application request, the method further includes:

receiving, by the mobile application system, a first mobile application request, the first mobile application request being received responsive to the user requesting the mobile application during an authenticated session at an Internet website of the entity that the user is affiliated with, wherein the first mobile application request identifies at least (i) the user, (ii) an electronic address of the user, and (iii) the entity that the user is affiliated with; and

directing, by the mobile application system, a delivery of a network link to the electronic address of the user, wherein an invocation of the network link directs a delivery of the second mobile application request for receipt by the mobile application system.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the network link is delivered in association with information identifying the user and the entity, wherein the second mobile application request includes the information identifying the user and the entity.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the information identifying the user and the entity is a token or unique identifier, wherein the second mobile application request includes the token or the unique identifier.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the electronic address of the user includes at least one of (i) a telephone number for receiving text messages, (ii) an electronic mail address, or (iii) an instant messenger identifier or address.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein prior to directing the delivery of the customization information, the method further includes:

directing, by the mobile application system, a delivery of a link to the mobile device, wherein an invocation of the link causes the mobile application of the mobile device to deliver the information identifying the user and the entity that the user is affiliated with for receipt by the mobile application system from the mobile device; and

retrieving, by the mobile application system based upon the received information, the customization information associated with one or both of the user or the entity.

The method of claim 1, wherein the entity is a first entity of a plurality of entities that the mobile application can be customized for, wherein the mobile application is customized for a subset of the plurality of entities, including the first entity for which the customization information has been delivered.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the customization information includes one or more of an authentication image previously selected by the user, images associated with the entity, text associated with the entity, or color schemes associated with the entity.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the entity is a financial institution.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the identifier includes information identifying the user and the entity with which the user is affiliated.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the information identifying the user and the entity that the user is affiliated with is provided by the user to the mobile application, wherein the mobile application of the mobile device delivers the information for receipt by the mobile application system from the mobile device.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein facilitating delivery of the mobile application includes directing the mobile device to a download location, the download location including one or more of:

(i) information for accessing the download location, or (ii) redirection an Internet browser of the mobile device to the download location.

20. The system of claim 1, wherein the entity is a financial institution.

13. A system, comprising:

at least one memory operable to store computer-executable instructions; and

at least one processor configured to access the at least one memory and execute the computer-executable instructions to;

store an identifier associated with (i) a user and (ii) an entity with whom the user is affiliated;

receiving a mobile application request;

facilitating, responsive to receiving the mobile application request, delivery of a mobile application to a mobile device associated with the user;

receiving, in association with an execution of the mobile application by the mobile device, the identifier; and

directing, to the mobile device based upon the received identifier, a delivery of customization information for customizing the mobile application of the mobile device, the customization information associated with one or both of the user or the entity with whom the user is affiliated.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the mobile application request is a second mobile application request, and wherein prior to receiving the second mobile application request the at least one processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:

receive a first mobile application request, the first mobile application request being received responsive to the user requesting the mobile application during an authenticated session at an Internet website of the entity that the user is affiliated with, wherein the first mobile application request identifies at least (i) the user, (ii) an electronic address of the user, and (iii) the entity that the user is affiliated with; and

direct a delivery of a network link to the electronic address of the user, wherein an invocation of the network link directs a delivery of the second mobile application request for receipt by the mobile application system.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the electronic address of the user includes at least one of (i) a telephone number for receiving text messages, (ii) an electronic mail address, or (iii) an instant messenger identifier or address.

16. The system of claim 14, wherein the network link is delivered in association with information identifying the user and the entity, wherein the second mobile application request includes the information identifying the user and the entity.

17. The system of claim 16, wherein the information identifying the user and the entity is a token or unique identifier, wherein the second mobile application request includes the token or the unique identifier.

18. The system of claim 13, wherein prior to directing the delivery of the customization information, and wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:

direct delivery of a link to the mobile device, wherein an invocation of the link causes the mobile application of the mobile device to deliver the information identifying the user and the entity that the user is affiliated with for receipt by the mobile application system from the mobile device; and

retrieve, based upon the received information, the customization information associated with one or both of the user or the entity.

19. The system of claim 13, wherein the customization information includes one or more of an authentication image previously selected by the user, images associated with the entity, text associated with the entity, or color schemes associated with the entity.
