Abstract

Methods and systems for linking a service provider account with patient care information are disclosed. A patient'"'"'s account information is received. A service account for the patient is identified, and an association between a patient'"'"'s care record and the service account is stored. Care information for the patient is received and transmitted to a device associated with the patient'"'"'s service account.

Claims

1. A method of providing patient care information, comprising:

receiving account information for a patient;

receiving an identification of a service account for the patient associated with the account information;

storing, in a database, an association between a patient care record for the patient and the service account for the patient;

receiving, from a patient care provider, care information for the patient; and

transmitting the care information for the patient.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein transmitting the care information for the patient further comprises:

transmitting the care information for the patient to a service provider; and

causing the care information to be transmitted from the service provider to a device associated with the service account.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

causing a reminder message to be transmitted to a device associated with the service account.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a confirmation that the association between the patient care record with the service account for the patient is correct.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a personal identification number for the association;

storing the personal identification number for the association along with the association between the patient care record for the patient and the service account for the patient;

receiving an indication that a user has entered the personal identification number stored along with the association; and

transmitting the care information for the patient, in response to the indication.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a password for the association;

storing the password for the association along with the association between the patient care record for the patient and the service account for the patient;

receiving an indication that a user has entered the password stored along with the association; and

transmitting the care information for the patient, in response to the indication.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

encrypting the care information for the patient; and

wherein transmitting care information further comprises transmitting the encrypted care information for the patient.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving account information for an authorized care representative of the patient;

receiving an identification of a service account for the authorized care representative of the patient associated with the account information; and

storing an association between a patient care record for the patient and the service account for the authorized care representative.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the device is a television set top box.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the device is a mobile telephone.

11. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving educational information related to the care information for the patient; and

transmitting the educational information.

12. A system, comprising one or more computers and one or more storage devices storing instructions that are operable, when executed by the one or more computers, to cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:

receiving account information for a patient;

receiving an identification of a service account for the patient associated with the account information;

storing an association between a patient care record for the patient and the service account for the patient;

receiving, from a patient care provider, care information for the patient; and

transmitting the care information for the patient.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the operation of transmitting the care information for the patient further comprises:

transmitting the care information for the patient to a service provider; and

causing the care information to be transmitted from the service provider to a device associated with the service account.

14. The system of claim 12, the operations further comprising:

causing a reminder message to be transmitted to a device associated with the service account.

15. The system of claim 12, the operations further comprising:

receiving a confirmation that the association between the patient care record with the service account for the patient is correct.

16. The system of claim 12, the operations further comprising:

receiving a personal identification number for the association;

storing the personal identification number for the association along with the association between the patient care record for the patient and the service account for the patient;

receiving an indication that a user has entered the personal identification number stored along with the association; and

transmitting the care information for the patient, in response to the indication.

17. The system of claim 12, the operations further comprising:

receiving a password for the association;

storing the password for the association along with the association between the patient care record for the patient and the service account for the patient;

receiving an indication that a user has entered the password stored along with the association; and

transmitting the care information for the patient, in response to the indication.

18. The system of claim 12, the operations further comprising:

encrypting the care information for the patient; and

wherein transmitting care information further comprises transmitting the encrypted care information for the patient.

19. The system of claim 12, the operations further comprising:

receiving account information for an authorized care representative of the patient;

receiving an identification of a service account for the authorized care representative of the patient associated with the account information; and

storing an association between a patient care record for the patient and the service account for the authorized care representative.

20. The system of claim 12, wherein the device is a television set top box.

21. The system of claim 12, wherein the device is a mobile telephone.

22. The system of claim 12, the operations further comprising:

receiving educational information related to the care information for the patient; and

transmitting the educational information.

23. A device, comprising:

a memory configured to store data and an application program; and

a processor configured to execute the application program, the application program configured to request account information from a user, forward the account information to a service provider, receive medical care information from the service provider associated with the account information, display the medical care information, and provide an interactive graphical user interface to allow the user to enter data associated with a medical condition.

24. The device of claim 23, wherein the device is a set top box and the service provider is a cable company.

25. The device of claim 24, wherein the application program is further configured to allow the user to select a particular television channel to view the medical care information.

26. The device of claim 23, wherein the device is a cell phone.
