Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer-readable and executable instructions are provided for recommending print locations. Recommending print locations can include receiving recommendation, user, and geographic information for a first mobile print location (MPL) and a second MPL. Recommending print locations can also include indexing the recommendation, user, and geographic information for each of the first MPL and the second MPL as an automatically created uniform resource indicator (URI) on an MPL system. Furthermore, recommending print locations can include ranking the first MPL and the second MPL based on the recommendation, user, and geographic information and presenting a list, via a user interface, of the ranked first MPL and the second MPL.

Claims

1. A method for recommending mobile print locations, comprising:

receiving recommendation, user, and geographic information for a first mobile print location (MPL) and a second MPL;

indexing the recommendation, user and geographic information for each of the first MPL and the second MPL as an automatically created uniform resource indicator (URI) on an MPL system;

ranking the first MPL and the second MPL based on the recommendation, user, and geographic information; and

presenting a list, via a user interface, of the ranked first MPL and the second MPL.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising searching and decoding the first MPL and the second MPL using the automatically created URI.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the recommendation information is received using a recommender system.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising facilitating, via the recommender system, the providing of incentives to MPL providers to offer MPL services to users.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the list is sorted by at least one of the name of the MPL, a distance from a mobile device to the first and second MPL, a combination of the recommendation and geographic information, and a performance recommendation given to at least one of the first and second MPLs by a user.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the quantity of recommendation information received from a single user is limited to a predetermined temporal budget.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the recommendation, user, and geographic information are stored in a database on the MPL system.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising displaying, via the user interface, a received user comment relating to each of the first and second MPLs.

9. A system for recommending mobile print locations, comprising:

a machine including processor resources;

machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor resources, cause the processor resources to;

receive a geographic location of a user;

retrieve geographic information regarding a mobile print location (MPL) from a print directory database;

retrieve a recommendation of an MPL from a recommender system;

retrieve an amount of usage by a different user of the MPL;

merge the geographic information, the recommendation, and the usage amount; and

present the merged information, via a user interface, to the user in relation to the geographic location of the user.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein incentive offerings are presented to a user from the first and second MPLs, via the recommender system, when the user performs at least one of rating and utilizing the first and second MPLs.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the evaluation is received from a friend of the user, wherein the friend is determined according to an interface with a social network.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the evaluation includes a recommendation credit identifier with an expiration date that when used as a recommendation for the MPL decrements a predetermined recommendation credit identifier budget.

13. A non-transitory machine-readable medium having machine-readable instructions stored thereon that, if executed by processor resources, cause the processor resources to:

receive a request for mobile print provider location (MPL) information from a first user;

assign to a second user a temporal budget of explicit recommendations for recommending the number of MPLs;

receive and track a number of implicit recommendations and a number of explicit recommendations from the second user via a recommender system, wherein the number of explicit recommendations does not exceed the temporal budget of explicit recommendations;

receive a comment from the second user regarding the number of MPLs;

query an external recommender system database for existing implicit and explicit recommendations for the number of MPLs;

automatically associate each of a number of MPLs with a unique URI;

annotate each of the unique URIs, via the recommender system, with the associated implicit and explicit recommendations, comment, and existing recommendations;

rank the URIs based on the annotation; and

display the URIs in a list of a predetermined order.

The medium of claim 13, wherein the number of explicit recommendations includes recommendations of the number of MPLs by a number of users and the number of implicit recommendations includes recommendations of the number of MPLs based on use of the number of MPLs by the number of users, and further wherein the number of explicit and implicit recommendations expire after a particular period of time.

15. The medium of claim 13, wherein the predetermined order is based on payment corresponding to a print provider'"'"'s list location.
