Abstract

Methods and devices for selectively presenting a user interface in a dual screen device. More particularly, the method includes providing a gallery for the dual screen device. The gallery can present one or more images in a user interface. The gallery user interface can adapt to changes in the device configuration. Further, the gallery can display images or videos in the various configurations.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

providing a device having at least first and second screens, wherein the device is in a landscape dual screen orientation;

receiving a first input to the device, wherein the first input executes a gallery function; and

in response to the first input, displaying the gallery across at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein one or more albums are displayed in a first section of the gallery.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first section is displayed on the first screen.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the first section is navigable.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein a grid of one or more image thumbnails is displayed in a second section of the gallery.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the second section is displayed in at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the gird is navigable.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the gallery includes an action bar comprising one or more user selectable icons for executing one or more functions in the gallery.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising receiving a selection of an album in the first section.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising, in response to the selection of the album, changing the display of the grid to include one or more images associated with the album.

11. A device, comprising:

a first screen, the first screen including a first gesture capture region;

a second screen, wherein the second screen faces an opposite direction from the first screen when the device is closed, and wherein an image capture lens is associated with the second screen;

a memory;

a processor in communication with the memory, the first screen, and the second screen, the processor operable to;

receive a first input to the device, wherein the first input executes a gallery function; and

in response to the first input, display the gallery across at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.

12. The device of claim 11, wherein one or more albums are displayed in a first section of the gallery, wherein the first section is displayed on the first screen, and wherein the first section is navigable.

13. The device of claim 12, wherein a grid of one or more image thumbnails is displayed in a second section of the gallery, wherein the second section is displayed in at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen, and wherein the gird is navigable.

14. The device of claim 13, wherein the gallery includes an action bar comprising one or more user selectable icons for executing one or more functions in the gallery.

15. The device of claim 14, further comprising:

receiving a selection of an album in the first section; and

in response to the selection of the album, changing the display of the grid to include one or more images associated with the album.

16. A computer readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions, the computer executable instructions causing a processor of a device to execute a method for providing a user interface, the computer-executable instructions comprising:

instructions to receive a first input to the device, wherein the first input executes a gallery function; and

in response to the first input, display the gallery across at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen.

17. The computer readable medium of claim 16, wherein one or more albums are displayed in a first section of the gallery, wherein the first section is displayed on the first screen, and wherein the first section is navigable.

18. The computer readable of claim 17, wherein a grid of one or more image thumbnails is displayed in a second section of the gallery, wherein the second section is displayed in at least a portion of the first screen and at least a portion of the second screen, and wherein the gird is navigable.

19. The computer readable medium of claim 17, wherein the gallery includes an action bar comprising one or more user selectable icons for executing one or more functions in the gallery.

20. The computer readable medium of claim 16, the processor further operable to:

receiving a selection of an album in the first section; and

in response to the selection of the album, changing the display of the grid to include one or more images associated with the album.
